I’ve lived with and been around cats for over 20 years. I absolutely LOVE getting to know them and their crazy, sweet, hilarious personalities, and I love getting shy kitties to learn to trust me. I know to be calm and gentle in my interactions when meeting them for the first time, and I can read cats’ body language pretty well. I always want to let them set the pace for how much interaction they want and when they want it. If they want to sniff me, swat me, or stare at me from afar, I’m okay w... I’ve lived with and been around cats for over 20 years. I absolutely LOVE getting to know them and their crazy, sweet, hilarious personalities, and I love getting shy kitties to learn to trust me. I know to be calm and gentle in my interactions when meeting them for the first time, and I can read cats’ body language pretty well. I always want to let them set the pace for how much interaction they want and when they want it. If they want to sniff me, swat me, or stare at me from afar, I’m okay with however they want to introduce themselves. I want to be more than just a person who fills their food bowls, scoops the litter and then leaves. I want to let them know I’m their friend, and I’m going to take good care of them just as their pawrents would! I would diligently follow any and all instructions, send updates with pictures, and communicate promptly if any issues arise. Kitties will love all the attention I give them, with lots of pets, playtime, and treats, as their owners permit.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I currently have one cat, a white-with-gray-patches girl named Vivi who I adopted from a shelter more than 5 years ago. She is the calmest, sweetest kitty and I love her so much! In my childhood I had 2 cats named Bubba and Lola, and they really made me love cats and everything about them.

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

Make sure no doors or unsecured windows are left open, and be very careful when entering and leaving the house. Make sure the temperature of the home is comfortable, and that there are no accessible hazards like cleaning chemicals or certain plants near the cats. I would also follow any directions left by homeowner for any specific precautions.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

Let them have their space and not insist on interacting with me, give them treats if they’ll let me, and move around the house quietly and not make too much noise unnecessarily.

Neena was great. She took her time making my cats comfortable and gave medicine to one who has had a tough time recently. She gave great updates with photos and kept me up on their activities. She checked to see if I would be home on time (I was away for a week) and made sure the handoff back to my care would go as planned. I really appreciated her dedication to their care!

Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.

All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
