What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I have been cat sitting for about 15 years! I love to spend time with them, play with them, cuddle or hang out if they want.
Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?
There are 2 cats in one house I have been taking care of for a few years. I met them as kittens and they were super shy even as babies. Even though they know me, they both always are nervous when I first come but by day 2 they are rolling on their backs asking for pets!
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I have 3 amazing cats! Oliver is an 11 year old tuxedo who runs the house, Leo is a 10 year old shy boy found in someone's yard. And Snickers is my newest baby, a Siamese mix who never sleeps and causes all kinds of chaos and fun in the house!
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
I would want to hear all about the personalities, routines, likes and dislikes of each cat to keep them as comfortable and happy as I can. I would want to follow all routines and make sure I understand everything the cat parent would need from me. I would be happy to answer any questions prior and make sure to provide pictures/updates/videos to make sure the parent feels comfortable as well!
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I have a particular love toward cats that are timid and anxious. As a vet tech i have been the go to with these cats to always go slow, treat them with respect, and let them set the pace. I have also volunteered at feral cat rescues and shelters helping the shyer cats learn to trust and know that humans are there to love them.

Maryanne set up a meet and greet and we had first cat-sitting yesterday. She has been spending time trying to have my cats get comfortable with her, especially Jasper who needs timely medication. She did great with oral/pill medications (3!) and having so much experience as a vet tech is comforting in my situation. She was sure to be early and communicative. She has been patient with cats and also me - the nervous cat mom - and I am confident I can trust the cats to her care like this in the future too!

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Raritan cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $28.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.
We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

I have known Maryanne for more than 8 years now, when she first started cat sitting for us. Maryanne is extremely reliable, warm and friendly, and thus has easily developed a positive relationship with me a my cats. She is dedicated, helpful and caring. Maryanne is able to give insulin too, which is a bonus. Maryanne is always punctual, and she sends photos and updates when asked. We love Maryanne Pavlich!
