What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I cat sitter throughout graduate school for three years. I am currently a dedicated cat mom. I also take care of friends cats when they are away.

What I enjoy most about cat sitting is getting to know each cat’s unique personality and helping them feel safe and comfortable while their owner is away. I especially love earning the trust of shy or tentative cats and seeing them relax.

My favorite cat sitting experiences are the ones where a shy or tentative cat slowly starts to trust me. I really enjoy seeing a cat relax, come out of hiding, and feel safe and comfortable with my presence. Those quiet moments of trust are especially meaningful to me.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

Yes, I have two cats of my own, Figgy and Jade. They were both adopted as adults, so I have a lot of experience with cats who need patience, gentle handling, and time to build trust.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

I would suggest choosing someone who understands that cats all have different temperaments and routines. Look for a sitter who is reliable, observant, patient, and willing to follow your instructions carefully, especially if your cat is shy, anxious, or needs medication.

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

I like to start by learning your cat's routine, personality, preferences, and any special needs. I want to know about feeding, litter, play style, medications, hiding spots, and anything that helps your cat feel secure. During visits, I follow your instructions closely and send updates and photos so you feel reassured.

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

1 am careful, responsible, and attentive during every visit. I make sure doors are secure, follow all household instructions, double-check food, water, and litter, and pay close attention to the cat's behavior and well-being. I understand that caring for someone's pet also means respecting and protecting their home.

Are you usually available during holidays?

My holiday availability can vary, but I understand that holidays are a time when many people need dependable pet care. I always recommend reaching out as early as possible so I can let you know my availability.

What is your favorite cat toy?

My favorite cat toy is a wand toy because it encourages interactive play and lets cats engage at their own comfort level. I also like toys that match each cat’s personality, since some cats are playful right away while others prefer gentler, quieter play.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

I handle timid or anxious cats with patience, calm energy, and respect for their boundaries. I never force interaction and instead let the cat set the pace. Since my own cats were adopted as adults, I’m very comfortable with shy cats who need slower introductions, quiet companionship, and time to build trust.
