I’ve been a cat lover since I can remember, and dedicate most of my free time to my fur babies, Martin & Juni, and Purrfect Catpanion - a cat rescue organization that works to rescue, vet & adopt out kitties in Hudson County. I have volunteered at cat rescues for over 10 years and have, as a result, become quite comfortable working with all types of kitties- from ferals to friendlies - babies to oldies - administering medicine and managing complicated kitty relationships, among other things!

My oldest cat, Martin, is 7 years old and has recently developed some urinary/bladder issues which can be life threatening. As a result, I have become a very observant cat mom - noticing discreet signs of illness & stress that others wouldn’t. As a result of his health issues, I’m very experienced with cats that may suffer from similar illness, and comfortable administering medicine. I would bring this sense of close observation to your home, and make sure your fur baby is well so you can enjoy your time away from home stress-free.
I added our second baby, Juni, a few years ago and lets just say her union with Martin was…complicated. It took us just shy of a year to get them to a place of tolerance - this time took patience, dedication and love. We had an awful experience with a cat sitter who left them both in the same room while we were hundreds of miles away, and it was so stressful for myself and my cats. I understand the toll it can take when sitters to not understand the importance of separation to kitty safety.

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
I chat with the parent to learn more about the kitty and their needs, and schedule a home visit once we get about a week away from the reservation date. During these visits, I meet the kitty, get to know the space so I know where everything I need is located, and ask the parent if there's anything extra they need me to do while they're gone (water plants, pick up mail, etc)!
Are you usually available during holidays?
Yes, I am usually available during the holidays! I had 3 reservations over the Christmas holiday.
What is your favorite cat toy?
I love wire toys the best– because they can engage even the laziest of cats! The movement mimics bird flight, tapping into a kitty's natural instinct and making them irresistible.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I have one of these kitties myself! I find that moving slow, getting them comfortable with my scent and associating me with positive things– like treats and play– works well. I would take it at the kitty's rate, and wait for them to come to me, hoping that treats might win them over time :)

Marina and Sean (also a Meowtel-verified cat-sitter, profile name "The Cat Manny") partnered in taking care of our 2 kitties while we were gone for 1 week. Words can't express the level of calm and peace they gave me as they were dependable, reliable, timely, and lovingly playful with our 2 girls. I left Marina and Sean written instructions for what to do during their twice per day visits, they followed the instructions perfectly and sent me videos of playtime as well as commentary on the girls' demeanor, eating and litter habits. My guilt of leaving my girls alone for so long was alleviated daily and I returned to things being tidy and my girls seemingly calm and well-adjusted. Thank you so much Sean and Marina. Marina was great. Meet and Greet went well and was relatively to the point. Updates were great and she asked questions in regards to my cats’ habits and characteristics. I came home to a house that smelled nice and was clean which was perfect because my cats have very smelly dumps lol. I have no complaints and she was a big help. I will only request her when needed. Marina did an amazing job watching my two cats while I was away for a week. I have one very friendly cat, and one shy cat, and she managed to get the shy cat to come say hi a few times. I’ve truly never had a sitter that was able to do that! she had great response time and frequent updates. I really felt like my cats were in good hands with her.

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.
These are the date ranges in 2026 to which the holiday surcharge applies:

- January 16-22: MLK Day
- February 13-19: Presidents Day

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Union City cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $29.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
