Hi! I’m Adina. I first became a cat mom at the age of 10 when I adopted a sweet persian/ mainecoon mix from St. Huberts and named him Snuggums (Don’t judge, I was 10!). I was blessed to have him in my life until my third year of college. Thanks to my parents and other living situations, I’ve had cats in my life for most of my life since then. I love all animals, but I 100% consider myself a cat person. I love their quirky personalities, sweet little toe beans, watching them tear around the house like unhinged maniacs, hearing them purr when happy, and conversing with the chatty ones. They are comfort, entertainment, joy, and love...

I love their quirky personalities, sweet little toe beans, watching them tear around the house like unhinged maniacs, hearing them purr when happy, and conversing with the chatty ones. They are comfort, entertainment, joy, and love.

Unfortunately, my current living situation doesn’t accommodate pets so I’d be thrilled to take care of yours instead! I can offer love, affection, and play time when you have to leave your fur babies behind for any period of time. I’m also happy to clean litter boxes, feed, and take care of any other needs your pets may have in your absence. I have experience with kittens, adolescents, and senior cats as well as administering oral medication, eye drops or salve, subcutaneous fluids, and inhalers.

Up until recently, I was a nanny for 10+ years where I loved other people’s children and pets as my own. Now, I’m building my own remote business as a Certified Pediatric Sleep Consultant which allows me the flexibility to cat-sit.

I am a plant mom so it would be safest for me to care for your babies in your home.

Areas local to Verona, the Caldwells, Montclair, Glenn Ridge, Cedar Grove, etc are most preferred.

I can’t wait to meet you and your fur babies!

Learn More About Adina

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I have been cat sitting for friends, family, and employers for several years. Since I love it so much, and I now have the time and flexibility, I finally decided to branch out and make it a part time career! I have been with Meowtel for almost 2 years.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

Kitties just make me so happy and I really miss having pets of my own. I love when I'm able to make a connection and earn the trust of a new cat - it's like making new friends but way cuter.

Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?

Three years ago, I took care of my neighbor's two cats whenever he had to leave town for business, which was pretty often. Scout & Amelia were both such shy, timid kittens and I was able to help/ watch them come out of their shells. If you're a cat person, you know the joy of finally being accepted by cats who used to run and hide under the bed every time you walked through the door. I always loved watching them and playing with them but now, when I was actually asked for pets, it just melted my heart. They've since moved to TN and my friend still tries to get me to go to him for cat-sitting. 😂🥰

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

* Please fill out the vet form and all other requested information. It gives me such piece of mind knowing I have everything I need should an emergency arise. * Please check your Meowtel messages while you're away and respond at your earliest convenience. Keep in mind that you may not always get notifications while traveling. * Please leave toys and treats to help me get to know your baby. I have had reservations where no toys are available which makes it very difficult to play!

Are you usually available during holidays?

While I do spend most holidays with my family, I may still be able to check in on your fur babies so please feel free to ask!

What is your favorite cat toy?

It doesn't matter what my favorite cat toy is - it's all about what gets the kitties excited! Whether it's the simple 'hand moving under a blanket', those little plastic springs or coiled up pipe cleaners, the classic kitty tease, a laser pointer, or any myriad of other toys - they're only fun if your kitty thinks they're fun, too!

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

I give them plenty of space to get comfortable on their own. I'll talk to them about everything I'm doing so they get used to my voice, sit/ lie still on the floor while they check me out, or straight up ignore them b/c some cats are weird like that. If they approach me, I let them smell a finger or the back of my hand, but will only pet/ pick them up when they're ready. Them rubbing their head against my hand is usually a good sign that I can try for a head pet. If medications need to be administered, I'm as gentle & quick as possible, calmly tell them how good they are, & give treats before/ after (if allowed).

We are so pleased with how at ease our kitties were with Adina during overnight stays! We received daily updates with many photos – all of our expectations were met and more! Based on photos, our kitties were clearly comfortable and continued with their daily routines (and demands for love) without us. Appreciate Adina also 1/ looking into cat inhalers beforehand (our boy needs it 2x a day) and 2/ caring for our chinchilla as well 3/ keeping things tidy during the stay. We’ll certainly be booking with Adina again on our next time away. ʕ·͡ᴥ·ʔ

We had a wonderful experience with Adina, and couldn’t be happier with the care she provided. Despite a difficult winter storm, she went above and beyond to figure out how to safely reach our home and make sure our cat was taken care of. Adina was incredibly patient and made a genuine effort to build trust and friendship with our very shy cat, which meant a lot to us! Overall, she was kind, communicative, and dependable throughout the entire time. We felt completely at ease knowing our cat was in such good hands. We will definitely be booking Adina again for our next trip and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a thoughtful and dedicated cat sitter.

Our cats absolutely adore Adina. She’s incredibly attentive and gentle with them during her visits, and she always keeps us updated with thoughtful messages and photos. We first hired Adina during a particularly stressful time—our cat Alexa had just been diagnosed with small cell lymphoma and required chemotherapy pills twice a week. Adina was a tremendous help, administering Alexa’s medication precisely as needed and following very specific instructions for handling her litter. Thanks in part to Adina’s care, Alexa is doing much better now. While she still requires her medication, she has regained much of her weight and is clearly more comfortable and at ease. We’re incredibly grateful for the care Adina has given our cats, and we absolutely plan to continue working with her in the future.

I cannot stress enough how great Adina is! I have always been nervous leaving my pets home during long trips. I have booked Adina twice this summer and from the moment I met her I knew she was truly passionate about what she does, even asking me questions I wouldn’t have thought to mention. Adina is super detailed, thorough, and great with communication. I really appreciated the daily photos of my pets and videos of her playing with them. I’m very grateful for the time she takes and loving my pets the same way I do! Thank you, Adina for allowing me to enjoy a worry free summer! I will definitely be back!

Over Christmas, Adina watched over our cat Steinbeck with daily visits over 5 days. Steinbeck has a special diet that requires only wet food as well as some medication in his food, and our automatic wet food feeder has limited slots. Adina did a great job ensuring each meal was prepped with medication when needed, cleaned out the feeder trays, and made sure the litter box was cleaned. She also played with Steinbeck each day (earning his coveted head-butts of approval), with pictures and videos at each visit of playtime and the food setup. We highly advise Adina's services to anyone needing a cat sitter and wanting someone kind and competent.

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.

Verona cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $29.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.

Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.

We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet!
