I'm Svetlana | Cat Sitting in Wayne, NJ

I recently graduated with a degree in Physics and am currently working as a part-time tutor. To supplement my income and indulge in my favorite activity, I am offering cat care services. My love for cats and their care is evident through my volunteering at the Homeless Animal Adoption League since 2018 (you can find me there on Sundays!). This is an all cat shelter, where each feline member gets to runs around every day whenever we clean the cages. I also take care of Monday morning medicine shift at the shelter. What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

I will come to your house to do a meet and greet. I will ensure that I know where everything is located, the feeding routine and any quirks that might help me make friends with your cat. I'll need to know where the litter boxes are, the water bowls, the garbage, the plates and spoons, the toys and any hiding spots if your little one is a scaredy one. I won't be pushy with your cat when I come, we will have a plenty of time to get acquainted when you are away.

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

My cats are escape artists so I have a body memory of how to open the door making sure that nobody sneaked in. I also obsessively check and cross check everything that I do, and I will triple check if I locked everything and all the cats are accounted for before I leave.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

Very slowly and gently. Sometimes I just have to sit and talk to them, slowly blinking, till they are comfortable enough to let me pet them. It's usually easier from there. I know how to respect their boundaries if they give me a bite or a scratch, and I am not afraid of scratches and bites.

Cancellation Policy

Customers may cancel within 24 hours of making their reservation and receive a 100% refund and the sitter will not receive any earnings. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

Customers will receive a 100% refund to their Account Balance if they cancel anytime up to 48 hours before the start date of the reservation and the sitter will not receive any earnings.

Customers will receive a 50% refund and the sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings if the customer cancels between 24-48 hours of the start of the reservation.

No refund will be issued within 24 hours of the reservation and the sitter will keep 100% of their planned earnings.

For reservations where each visit is at or above $20 and paid for through Meowtel, your cat(s) will automatically be covered under our insurance policy in the event that things don't go as planned.

If you are not fully satisfied with your sitter after the Meet & Greet or during the reservation, please call 1-844-636-9835 so we can help you re-book with a new sitter to ensure we can deliver on our purrfect hospitality promise.
