Growing up, I would always be the one sitting on the floor at a party petting the cat or offering to pet sit for friends. Then, in April of 2023, I took a small screaming tortoiseshell cat off the street and found her owner. I learned that she had been missing for months and that there was a new cat in the home. We decided to see how they got along - which was badly - and I ended up adopting her and naming her Madelyn... Based in Rio Rancho and the Albuquerque area. Under CuriousCritters505, your cat will receive loving supervision, playtime, and the utmost attention to detail. We decided to see how they got along - which was badly - and I ended up adopting her and naming her Madelyn.
She has since taught me that careful observation of behavior, lots of scratches in just the right place, long play sessions, a spotless litter box, predictable routine, and the willingness to admit that there is always room for improvement are key to being a great cat mom.
I have since decided to bring this knowledge to the homes of those needing someone to watch over their kitty while they're unavailable! I provide a calming and attentive energy for my feline friends to relax in.
I have reliable transportation and flexible hours.
I only do walks, drop-ins, and house sitting as Mads doesn't like other cats.
I will perform all caretaking duties such as

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
If you're looking to hire a sitter, find someone who's skillset includes consistent and detailed communication, problem solving skills, and a good understanding of cat behavior. Someone who will recognize signs of discomfort and stress in your cat will catch an impending emergency or illness your cat is experiencing and act accordingly. They should also have access to reliable transportation and be able and willing to show up to the job and follow through even if something personal comes up, there's inclement weather, or other issues arise. Your sitter should be willing to provide the contact information of previous clients who recommend them. Knowledge about nearby 24 hour emergency vets and experiences with various cats of different personalities and breeds is always reccomended.
Are you usually available during holidays?
I am available during Holidays and will be a great caretaker for your furry friend! I am a bit of a homebody, and I prefer to stay in and hangout with the fur babies while gaming or working on art, so if you place me with your cat, they'll never be lonely! I am prepared to drive in heavy traffic and icy conditions. I am also good at handling separation anxiety, fear surrounding fireworks, and other related behaviors.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
Timid cats are usually used to a particular person and set routine. They become stressed when a new person is introduced or their routine changes. Cats may also get anxious due to loud noise and other sudden changes to their environment. The best call is to make myself as predictable and boring as possible! I would closely follow their routine closely, use a lower voice, talk and move slowly, and get to a calm mental place. If there is anything I can do to remove or lessen a stressor such as sound proofing an area for them, I will take those steps. I will also allow them to observe me from afar and make myself seem uninterested in them if they approach. I need to just be in their presence without asking anything of them.

Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
