Learn More About Kimberly

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I’ve been fortunate to have cats in my life for over 40 years, and caring for them has always been a passion of mine. Over the years, I’ve gained experience not only with my own kitties but also by cat sitting for friends, family, and neighbors. I understand that every cat has its own personality, and I love getting to know each one while providing them with the love and care they deserve while their owners are away.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

How different kitties are and how much fun they can be. Every cat is so different and yet all love attention, even if it's just me soothing them with conversation. Playtime is where they like to come out and shine with their quirkiness.

Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?

I was told I would probably never see the kitty as she was very shy. I found her under bed and sat on floor and spoke softly to her for several minutes. After an hour she came out and we got to know each other. From then she would meet me on the couch for pets and snuggles. We became great friends.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I share my home with two adorable kitties, Charlie and Scatlana! Charlie is my clever little guy who loves to play, show off his smarts, and soak up belly rubs. Scatlana, my precious snuggle bug, is truly my baby, she loves curling up in my arms and being as close as possible. They fill my days with love, laughter, and plenty of purrs, and I’d be honored to share that same care and affection with your fur babies too.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

When looking for a cat sitter, it’s so important to find someone who truly understands that every kitty has their own unique personality and needs. I always recommend choosing a sitter who’s patient, attentive, and willing to take the time to learn your cat’s favorite spots, routines, and quirks. Make sure they’re someone you feel comfortable communicating with, and who will treat your fur baby like one of their own — because our cats deserve nothing less.

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

When working with a new cat parent, my goal is to make sure both you and your kitty feel completely comfortable and cared for. I like to start with a meet-and-greet so I can get to know you, your fur baby, and their routine. During our visit, I’ll learn about their favorite toys, treats, hiding spots, and any special quirks or needs they may have. I’ll also go over feeding schedules, litter box care, medications (if needed), and any house details you’d like me to know. Communication is key, so I’ll keep you updated with photos, videos, and little notes while you’re away — so you can relax knowing your kitty is happy and in good hands.

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

The safety and well-being of your kitty and home are always my top priority. I make sure doors and windows are securely locked after each visit, double-check that your cat is safe inside, and follow all instructions you provide for your home and kitty’s care. I’m mindful of anything that could pose a risk — like small objects, open cabinets, or plants — and I keep a close eye on your cat’s behavior and health during each visit. I’ll also keep you updated with photos and check-ins, so you always know how things are going while you’re away. Your home and fur baby are treated with the same love and care I give my own.

Are you usually available during holidays?

Yes, since I work from home and have a flexible schedule, I’m usually available during holidays. I understand how important it is to have someone reliable and loving to care for your kitty when you’re away, especially during busy times like the holidays. While I don’t offer overnight stays, I’m happy to stop by for visits to give your fur baby plenty of love, playtime, and care while you enjoy your holiday plans with peace of mind.

What is your favorite cat toy?

My favorite cat toy is the teaser wand with feathers, strings, or toys on the end. I love how it lets me interact and play directly with the kitties, bringing out their natural hunting instincts while we bond and have fun together. It’s the perfect way to get them moving, keep them entertained, and share some quality playtime.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

When caring for timid or anxious kitties, I believe in letting them set the pace. I’ll calmly find where they’re hiding or resting, and then give them space while speaking to them in a soft, soothing voice, using their name and letting them know I’m a friend and mean no harm. I never try to touch, pick up, or overwhelm them. Instead, I sit nearby, giving them the chance to watch, listen, and get comfortable with my presence. Every cat deserves to feel safe and in control of their space, and I’m always patient and respectful of their boundaries.

So glad to have met Kim after our regular sitter couldn't cover the whole time we were away. Great pics of our kitties and thorough updates - they were very well cared for!! Luna had an asthma attack during the a.m. visit and, Kim even went back to check on Luna before the p.m. visit to make she was doing okay! We will definitely use Kim again and highly recommend her.

Kimberly went above and beyond! She was the nicest and more sweetest to my little girl verna, and verna is a shy kitty so it’s hard to get her to wanna talk and be around you! She cleaned up the little messes verna made throughout the day, fed her and cleaned the litter, all with time to play and get some stimulation! Amazing job, appreciate kimberly so much for giving that peace of mind that my kitty was safe while i was gone!

Kimberly had went above and beyond while taking care of my two kitties this past week! I have never used a cat sitter, and everyday she eased my nerves by sending countless photos and a verbal update! She spent a generous amount of time playing with them and making sure their living space was clean and tidy. I could tell based on her photos that they loved her. I would highly recommend Kimberly to anyone in the Reno area, as I myself would definitely use her services again!

Kim is the best pet sitter we’ve ever had. She really loves our little guys, is incredibly communicative, sends a million photos, and plays with them like no other pet sitter has before! I als appreciate that she always checks in a day or two before to confirm. Knowing she’ll be there always puts my mind at ease!

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.

Reno cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $22.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.

Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.

We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet!
