Mikey and Jackie! Mikey is an absolute sweetheart, he’s sometimes scared of new faces but I always encourage people to slowly gain his affection when they visit. Jackie is my adorable enigma she’s a bit more aloof but enjoys playing fetch and cuddling up in bed with me at night.
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
I’ve been living with cats for 15+ years so I pride myself on having an encyclopedic knowledge of what is safe and unsafe to have around them. I am also extremely observant and know the tell-tale signs of their discomfort.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
My Mikey is a very anxious boy so I think I have a magic touch here. I handle timid cats by making sure to make slow movements around them, I do not make loud noises around them, I give them time to figure me out before I engage them, and most importantly I know how to tell when to give them their space.

Kerly is an amazing cat sitter--so much so that I barely knew what I was looking for in a cat sitter until she came along. What I want for my cats Lil and James is a kind presence, a person who exudes personal responsibility, and (this is where Kerly really shines) someone who knows a metric ton about things cats can and cannot touch and eat, things to which they react poorly or well, FDA-level knowledge of the objects and environments with which cats might come into contact. She is always 100% on time and cuts no corners, and for all of the above I can readily say that I recommend her without reservation.

Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Brooklyn cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $31.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Kerly is the best cat sitter! Her attention to detail is unprecedented. I had a cat who was sick and needed medication in a certain way and she handled it, easing all my worries while I was away with detailed updates. A superpower Kerly has a sitter is empathy. One of my kitties has a lot of anxiety eating. Kerly could tell my kitty was sad while I was away and gave her the right attention to make her comfortable and eat her dinner. I have had sitters in the past just note that my kitty didn’t seem interested/hungry so it was such a relief to have her take the extra step and make sure my cat was well taken care of. Kerly is my preferred sitter.
