I have been a lifelong pet owner and animal lover, having raised both cats and dogs since my early childhood. I am, by profession, an IT Specialist, but began, over the past few years, scaling back and working from home, which afforded me the opportunity to make cat-sitting a major focus. If asked about my general philosophy, I would say that because many people view cats as being such self-sufficient creatures, it’s easy for them to take for granted the notion that they are just fine when left alone. Being so familiar with them, and having spent as much time as I have taking care of other people's cats over the years, I realize how untrue this is. It is important for the cats, as well as their humans to have someone there--not just to feed them & clean their litter boxes, but to provide a consistent level of companionship and stress-relieving stimulation, if even only for a brief amount of time every day.
