I believe patience is key with cats, and I always let them set the pace, giving them the space they need to feel safe and comfortable... I’m a dedicated cat dad with over 15 years of experience caring for cats. I currently have a 12-year-old senior and a 2-year-old, so I’m very familiar with caring for cats of different ages, personalities, and energy levels. I’m experienced in introducing cats, administering medications, and caring for both confident and shy kitties.
I believe patience is key with cats, and I always let them set the pace, giving them the space they need to feel safe and comfortable. I’ve also fostered cats and have extensive cat-sitting experience, so I understand how important routines, environment, and calm companionship are while you’re away. During visits, I focus on keeping things calm and stress-free through attentive care, playtime, and companionship tailored to each cat’s personality.

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I’ve been caring for cats for over 15 years, starting with my own cats and gradually expanding to helping friends, family, and neighbors when they traveled. I’ve also been using Meowtel myself for a few years whenever I travel, so I know exactly what it’s like to be on the other side.
Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?
One of my favorite cat reservations was one of my first experiences with Meowtel. The meet and greet went great and they asked plenty of questions. During the reservation our sitter arrived each day at the same time, and provided pictures of the cats when they first arrived, as well as videos and pics of them playing with the cats. They also provided before and after pics of the foods and water bowls, and the litter box. Their communication was excellent and their attention to detail was very much appreciated!
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
Safety is my top priority. I’m always careful with doors and windows to make sure cats can’t get out. I keep an eye out for anything that seems off in the home or with the cat’s behavior. If a cat isn’t eating or seems sick, I let the owner know right away and will contact the vet if needed. I treat every home and every cat like they’re my own.

Julio is a phenomenal sitter. He immediately put us at ease at our meet and greet and asked great questions. his experience with senior cats really stood out. he made sure all 3 of our cats were well taken care of, he kept them on their regular schedule with the times he visited, he played with them, gave them treats and made sure their overall mood was okay before leaving each visit. his updates were timely and thorough even when I couldn’t respond immediately, and our cats (that have separatation anxiety) were in much better spirits when we returned home than with other sitters we have used. Julio is now our go-to and I strongly encourage others to work with him.

Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Brooklyn cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $30.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
