I currently reside in Ridgewood, Queens so I am able to drive or take public transportation to Brooklyn neighborhoods such as Williamsburg, Bedford-Stuyvesant, Crown Heights, Downtown Brooklyn, Park Slope, Sunset Park, Prospect Lefferts Garden, Flatbush, Canarsie, and others. I am also able to reach Forest Hills, Flushing, Maspeth, Greenpoint, Sunnyside, Long Island City, and Astoria... Hello! I am a High School Science Teacher looking for an extra fun way to spend my time. I love working in my profession, especially since it gives me time during the year to explore other passions of mine and getting to travel around the city and meet everybody’s furry friends has been wonderful! I am a previous owner of 2 cats, Jasper and Pixie, who unfortunately passed away while I was in college. Since then, I have been unable to own another because of my living situations, but luckily there are platforms like this that allow me to spend time with and care for others’ precious kitties!

I am also able to reach Forest Hills, Flushing, Maspeth, Greenpoint, Sunnyside, Long Island City, and Astoria. Some areas of Manhattan are accessible as well, including Tribeca, Soho, LES, Noho, Greenwich Village, Chelsea, Fidi, etc. If you are in a neighborhood that I have not listed or that is not within the map radius I have set, please feel free to reach out to me and inquire about a reservation anyways and we can discuss if it is accessible enough for us!
As for my experience, I have administered several different types of medication to my cats in the past, such as pills, creams, ear drops, eye drops, and flea medication (drops, creams, & collars). If your cat has a preferred way of taking medication, we can go over the specifics during our initial meet and greet to ensure that I am doing everything up to you and your cat's standard. If there is a medication your cat has that I stated I have not administered, we can definitely discuss what the medication is and if there is a chance I would be able to learn how to administer the medication during the meet and greet. I am more than open to learning new things! It is also worth mentioning that health and safety is very important to me. If you would prefer our meet and greets to be virtual, especially if you don’t have physical keys to your home, that is perfectly fine! I have access to Zoom, Google Meet, and Google Voice. I am also COVID-19 vaccinated and boosted, and if you prefer I wear a mask during an in-person meeting or in your home I am happy to do so.

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I’ve been cat sitting with Meowtel since summer 2022. Meowtel is my first experience formally cat sitting, but I’ve watched some of my friends cats prior to this.
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
Getting to travel around NYC and meet different cats and their personalities has been so much fun! I have met so many wonderful cats (ane humans, too!)
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
I am willing and able to talk over the phone/video for meet and greets, but meeting in person is also a great opportunity for the client to show me where everything is and for their cat to get introcduced to me. I will usually start by asking questions about where everything is, how often their cat is fed, if they like to play, etc. Afterwards, I will ensure that many photos and updates are given while the client is away, just to make sure that they know their babies are in good hands!
Are you usually available during holidays?
The only holidays I am usually unavailable for are Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas. There may be one other during the year (typically Easter or 4th of July) I will leave NYC to visit family, but my availability is always updated to reflect when I will be around.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
Each time I visit, I will make sure that the cat is able to see me and I’ll talk to them in a soft voice. I’ll always give them space and wait until they are ready to come out to greet me. I also make it a habit of talking to them as I’m serving their food or cleaning their litter box. This has worked for me in the past because then they can get familiar with my voice overtime and they are able to match a face with a voice when they see me. I assume that consistency brings some sort of comfort after being alone for the day.

kailee was willing to take on 20 minute visits for my and my boyfriend’s 4 cats while we took a 2 week trip to Japan. The time difference made communication a little bit clunky, but we were thrilled with the photos, videos, and updates we received! My two cats and I only recently moved in, and they took several visits to start showing themselves, but they ultimately warmed up. My boyfriend’s cats are incredibly social and had no issues at all and jumped right in to play with Kailee. We are so appreciative of her willingness to take on quite a bit more than would typically be asked. All instructions were followed to a T. I would definitely recommend her!

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.
These are the date ranges in 2026 to which the holiday surcharge applies:

- January 16-22: MLK Day
- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Brooklyn cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $30.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
