More recently, I welcomed a bonded pair of kittens into my home, rescued through a local TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) program. Originally feral, these two little monsters have blossomed into happy, confident, playful cats who fill my home with endless joy and entertainment.
I work from home as a higher education professional, providing me the flexibility and dedication to offer exceptional care and attention to your feline family members. I greatly value meeting potential clients and their cats in advance, so I kindly request a 3-day notice for new clients to schedule a Meet & Greet. However, life happens—if you have a last-minute need, please feel free to reach out, and I'll do my absolute best to accommodate your request.
Lastly, for the safety and comfort of both your cat and myself, please let me know upfront if your pet has previously exhibited significant aggression, territorial behaviors, or biting that breaks skin. Open communication ensures we create an effective and comfortable care plan tailored specifically to your cat's needs.

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I have over 15 years of cat sitting experience! Friends, coworkers, family were my primary clients before the convenience of apps like Meowtel!
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
Providing a high quality care experience for clients allowing them to travel in peace! I also love getting to provide high quality pics, videos and updates to reassure clients that all is well at home when they are not!
Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?
There are so many cats that I care for that are really special to me. They become my little buddies and I feel very privileged that I get to hang out with them, play with them and give them love when you're away from home.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I am the care guardian to a bonded sibling pair named Geordi amd Jadzia. They are truly special and I love them bunches!
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
Look for someone who's style and approach to cat care matches your own! If super particular then look for someone who matches your energy!
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
I try to ask questions to get a sense of the kind of care they expect and prefer. Building trust and rapport is very important to me.
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
I treat every cat as if they were my own. I am very careful, attentive and patient. Every cat becomes my part time bestie!
Are you usually available during holidays?
I am available almost all holidays :) big and small from New Year to Christmas and everything in between! I travel myself but only in the dead periods for client!
What is your favorite cat toy?
My favorite toy makes no difference! Every cat has their own favorite thing - i will try a variety of toys from lasers, to feather wands, strings, even Cat TV on youtube. Once I figure out what your cat likes, that's my favorite toy!
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
My heart goes out to the shy ones! I approach shy kitties with extreme patience and compassion. I challenge myself to bring them out of their shell to help them be more confident while I earn their trust.

Melissa was phenomenal during my time away from my boys! here’s a list of amazing things she’s done to take anxiety away and ensure our boys were happy while I was away: - consistent videos/reels, photos, and check-ins every time she went over. It felt like we were along for the ride with the footage of the journey into our home and being greeted by the boys - always giving treats and quality playtime with the boys - checking their food storage, robot litter, and water to always make sure they were set for an every-other-day visit - assisting with minor clean-up like vomit from the youngest and sweeping/mopping up any litter messes (LITERALLY ABOVE AND BEYOND!!) - kept toys filled with treats for entertainment - consistent communication if she had any questions or concerns

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.
These are the date ranges in 2026 to which the holiday surcharge applies:

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.
If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.
Brooklyn cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $30.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.
We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.
Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet!

Melissa remains my go-to, and I really feel she cares as she worked to help me find another trusted cat-carer for the days she was unavailable, and also took care of my plants when I mentioned I'd forgotten to put in their water bulbs. Ginger gives her the White Tummy of Trust too, and she's a very good judge of character!

Melissa is the best cat sitter ever, hands down! She took care of my boys for three days and evenings and was a delight. Everything was done exactly as asked, and the photos and videos she sent were OUTSTANDING. I was actually a little worried my cats would be sad when I came home :p. Will book her again in a heartbeat. I always feel super guilty leaving my cats when I go away, but now I feel so reassured that they'll be in good hands and maybe even have a good time.

Melissa has to be one of the most thoughtful and thorough cat sitters on Moewtel. This was my first time entrusting the care of my cat to a stranger and I am so happy I did! Melissa was respectful and transparent in her approach by keeping me in the loop via text, videos and photos. Upon my arrival home, I was very impressed to see the litter trash complete disposed of and replaced with a new trash bag liner.
