I have experience working with cats and dogs of all ages, kittens/puppies to senior cats/dogs. I also have experience administering medication in the form of pills, eyedrops, eardrops, and syringes. A cat of mine once had diabetes and he required a daily insulin shot.
I also have experience with cats with different personalities. Outgoing or shy, silly or grumpy, I will meet them on their level. Furthermore, I have experience taking care of small critters, freshwater fish, and planted freshwater aquariums!
As a professional, I have 10+ years working in NYC public school education with students K-12. Whether I am working with students or animals, professionalism, care, attention to detail, and joy are my top priorities!
At this time I am only available for drop in visits because my kitties are seniors.

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I have been cat sitting with Meowtel for almost 2 years. However, I have been caring for cats since childhood.
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
Getting to know each kitties unique personality.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
Yes I have two! They are a mother/ daughter combo named Ding-Ding and Poose.
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
I am so excited to meet with new clients! I always schedule a meet and greet in advance of the booking. During the meet and greet, I like to meet the kitties and learn about their personalities, likes, and dislikes. I have a list of questions that I ask to make sure that I have essential information for the visits such as food, litter, favorite toy, and favorite hiding spots.
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
When I enter a clients home, I make sure not to open the door too wide to ensure that kitties don’t have the opportunity to bolt out of the home. I also make sure that the door is locked while I am visiting. When I leave, I also do a head count to make sure all kitties are inside. After the visit, I make sure that the door is locked behind me. During initial meet and greets, I ask the new client to show me how to use their keys (some doors are old and tricky) and receive information about if they have a security alarm in the home. I also will let the owner know of any severe weather that may be headed towards the area.
What is your favorite cat toy?
The iconic fishing wand!
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I give them plenty of space and ensure that my personal energy is calm and peaceful.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Brooklyn cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $30.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.
We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

As a first time Meowtel User, the reservation process was seamless. I love that Meowtel thoroughly vets their catsitters which alleviated much anxiety. Kelsey, was an absolute pleasure at our Meet & Greet. She asked all kinds of questions (and took notes) relating to cat personality, eating habits, if there was any medical history, favorite toys, etc. Kelsey's daily updates were detailed and she provided several pictures and short videos as well. My cat, Handsome, who normally hides from strangers, really took to her which says a lot! I am thoroughly pleased with the Meowtel service and Kelsey!

I am so happy to have hired Kelsey! I'm shocked more folks haven't hired her sooner. I'm honored that I am her first patron. This was a trial run with my cat since I have to travel a lot for my job and she did a great job.
