Cat Sitting in Buffalo, NY

Hi, I’m Kristie!

I’ve had cats my entire life and can’t imagine a home without them. I currently share my life with two senior cats, both with unique health needs. My girl, Luna, has stage 4 CKD and requires multiple medications — including transdermal treatments, pills, and subcutaneous fluids. My boy, Apollo, is a diabetic who needs daily insulin injections and glucose testing to make sure it’s safe to dose. Caring for them has given me extensive hands-on experience with a wide range of feline medical needs and routines.

Beyond my own cats, I’ve also cat-sat for other diabetic cats and those requiring medication, as well as previously volunteered for many years at a local cat adoption center where I assisted with evening medication rounds.

When I cat sit, I focus on creating a calm, stress-free environment. I know how overwhelming it can be for cats when someone new enters their space — and how stressful it can be for owners to trust someone else with their care. I pride myself on being patient, gentle, and attentive, always letting each cat set the pace for our interactions.

During each visit, I take time to make your cat feel comfortable and secure before anything else. I follow your care routine closely, whether that includes medications, feedings, litter scooping, or playtime. I move at your cat’s pace — some just want quiet company, while others love extra attention. I send detailed updates and photos after every visit so you know exactly how your kitty is doing. My goal is to keep their routine consistent, reduce stress, and ensure they feel loved and cared for until you’re home again.

As someone who understands what it’s like to leave behind cats with special needs, I aim to give pet parents true peace of mind while keeping their cats feeling safe, understood, and loved.

Learn More About Kristie

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

What I love most about cat sitting is getting to meet new cats and help them feel comfortable and cared for while their people are away. It’s so rewarding to see a shy cat start to relax or greet me at the door. I also love knowing I can help owners feel at ease — because I understand these aren’t just pets, they’re family.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I have two senior kitties — Luna, who’s 15, and Apollo, who’s 16. Both have special medical needs: Apollo is diabetic, and Luna has stage 4 kidney disease along with hyperthyroidism. I adopted them together from the SPCA when they were just a year old and I was 19. They’ve been with me through every stage of adulthood and truly are like my children. Caring for them has taught me patience, compassion, and just how special every cat really is.

Are you usually available during holidays?

Yes, I’m available for most holidays! I work in a hospital and typically only have to take call on two holidays each year. On those specific holidays I wouldn’t be available, but for all other holidays I’m off and happy to spend them caring for your kitties

Kristie is a responsible pet owner who goes above and beyond to make sure her cats are comfortable, sacrificing her own sleep at times. She is very clear and consistent communicator and I felt at ease leaving my own kitty with her. I felt like I could truly relax on my vacation knowing she was there for my cat Chloe. She is very knowledgeable about cats in general and I always go to her for advice. Her combined caring nature, passion and experience with her own animals makes her a top notch choice as a cat sitter!

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.

Buffalo cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $25.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.

Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.

We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet!
