After taking some time away from pet sitting, I’m back and ready to provide excellent care that puts pet owners and cats at ease.
I'm a pet lover located uptown in Harlem. I have a silly dog named Ginger. I’m also the step-mom of a sophisticated tabby cat named Geoff. He was one of the first cats I ever sat on Meowtel. His mom and I ended up becoming friends and falling in love!
I've sat many cats on Meowtel ranging from super shy to extremely extroverted. I adapt to each cat's needs and make it a priority that they feel safe and comfortable above all else. I grew up on a ranch in Texas so I learned how to be prepared for anything life throws at me when it comes to animals. Before Meowtel, I rescued three different kittens on separate occasions ranging from 2-5 weeks old. After nursing them to health and getting a good sense of their personalities, I found purrr-fect forever homes for them. I'm still in contact with their owners and check up on them every now and then.
As a pet owner, I know how nerve wracking it may be to leave your fur baby in the hands of someone else. I'm ready to ready to perform excellent care for your sweet kitty and make them (and you) feel at ease.
Outside of meowtel, I work in Communications at an off-broadway theater. I love to spend my free time catching up on the latest TV shows, movies and plays.
I’ve been told that when I take care of other people’s pets, I make them feel like I’m taking care of one of my own. I hope you’ll consider me to be your kitty’s sitter. What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I love meeting all the different personalities! As all pet parents know, every cat is unique. I love learning a kitty’s quirks and what makes them special. Introvert or extroverted, it doesn’t matter. I love them all!
Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?
One of the first cats I sat was named Geoff. He and I bonded immediately. He couldn’t get enough cuddles and LOVED playing in my hair. I became his go-to sitter whenever his mom was out of town. She and I eventually became friends when we learned how much we had in common. After a few years we started dating and fell in love! Now the four of us (including my dog) live together are one big happy family ❤️
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
Hire the sitter that asks questions! That shows experience and interest in your cat. Often times, cat parents will forget to mention small things (like which are their cat’s favorite toys or where they hide the treats) because they’re busy packing to leave. A good cag sitter will ask the questions the cat parent forgets to mention.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I work at their pace! Sometimes sitting (or laying down) on the floor makes you less scary to a timid cat. Eventually they’ll come and sniff you out of curiosity. Sometimes, a cat is too scared to even leave from under the bed. In those cases, i make sure i can at least locate the cat, let their parent know they’re under the bed, and then i go about my sit. I’ll move slowly around the apartment talking out loud in a gentle voice, explaining everything I’m doing. “Im going to walk to the litter box.” “I’m going to put some fresh food out.” Etc. If we don’t get the opportunity to play while I’m in the apartment, I’ll leave a few treats hidden around the apartment so that the kitty can have some fun and mental stimulation while I’m gone!

Ya'll....Alexandria was THE BEST! This was my first time using a cat sitter who wasn't a roommate or friend and they exceeded my already high expectations. My cat Toki was recently adopted and I had a lot of feelings about leaving him but I never had to worry cause Alexandria kept me updated and sent soooo many pictures and told me everything. Toki has been having eye issues and without me saying anything Alexandria administered his eye drops and kept me updated on his eye health. If I could give 10 stars I would honestly. I now have a trusted sitter who my cat loves and me too, so my heart is full and less stressed.

I was so glad to see that by the end of the week my cat would even pop out to say a quick hello. Alex is hands down the best cat sitter we’ve ever had (& there have been many!). After our first sitter fell through at the last minute I contacted Alex and boy am I glad I did. We were gone for almost three weeks (off the grid for some of it) and during that time our anxious kitty fell in love with Alex. It was obvious from the many sweet twice a day photos / videos we received that Brownie was in great hands. It gave me such peace of mind that I was able to fully relax and enjoy my vacation. I returned home to to a spotless apartment and more importantly a contented happy kitty. Highly recommend.

Alex was the most amazing cat sitter for our two cats, Meredith and Julian. She provided regular updates (with great pics) and when we returned our cats were happy and well taken care of. While we were gone we had a little water leak scare in our building and Alex went above and beyond by sending us a video of our aparment to assure us that there were no issues inside of our unit. She is trustworthy, reliable, and loves animals. We will for sure be reaching out to Alex next time we need a cat sitter.

I needed a last minute cat sitter on the UES and was so grateful that Alexandria came to the rescue just two days before my trip! She was extremely commmunicative throughout the stay, sending multiple pictures of my cat Pickle and even updating me on her food & water intake. Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

New York cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $29.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.

Alex took care of our Gnocchi for a week while we were traveling and it was honestly the best part of our trip. We would come home and Alex sent an abundance of photos for us to obsess over and cute photos of them cuddling together. She really went above and beyond. 100/10
