Cat Sitting in New York, NY

Meow’dy there! My name is Cat, and I’d love to be your cat’s favorite new visitor. I have over 4 years of cat sitting experience, caring for kittens to seniors. I truly love getting to know each cat and all the little quirks that make them the incredibly special, magical creatures they are!

I understand that each owner’s kitties are the most important and precious part of their world, and I treat that responsibility with the utmost care. The safety and comfort of the cats is always my top prioriy. I want every cat to feel respected, loved, and absolutely cherished. I care for each cat as if they were my own and do everything I can to help them settle in and feel happy while their pawrents are away...

I understand that each owner’s kitties are the most important and precious part of their world, and I treat that responsibility with the utmost care. The safety and comfort of the cats is always my top prioriy. I want every cat to feel respected, loved, and absolutely cherished. I care for each cat as if they were my own and do everything I can to help them settle in and feel happy while their pawrents are away. I take my time building trust by paying close attention to their body language, respecting their boundaries, and letting them move at their own pace. Each cat is wonderfully unique, and I pride myself on being able to adjust to what they need, whether that’s companionship, cuddles, playtime, or just a calm presence to share space with.

As I always aim to provide the absolute best care possible, I follow all instructions with the utmost attention and care. I am very experienced in caring for cats day to day, including feeding, litter, and medications (oral, ear, or topical). I’m reliable and prepared to handle any unexpected issues calmly. I’m always happy to go the extra mile, accommodating unique cat-related requests, bringing in mail or packages, watering plants, or tidying up furballs. I also love sharing plenty of photos, videos, and updates so every pawrent can feel reassured their cat is safe, well cared for, and absolutely loved.

Learn More About Catherine

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

I really enjoy connecting with new cat parents and learning as much as I can about their cat ahead of time. If possible, I like to meet beforehand so we can go over routines in detail and I can meet the cat in their own home, which helps everyone feel more comfortable from the start. I like to arrange plenty of time to ask questions, clarify preferences, and make sure I understand all care instructions clearly so I can follow them consistently and exactly as desired. I also really value open communication early on so you feel comfortable reaching out and confident your cat is receiving the best care and love!

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

I take the responsibility of caring for both cats and someone’s home very seriously. I always follow instructions closely. I also take very detailed notes so I can stay attentive to each cat’s behavior and I can quickly notice if anything seems off or different from their normal routine. I keep visits calm and consistent so cats can feel settled and secure, and I avoid introducing any unnecessary changes or stress to their environment. I also ensure doors, windows, feeding routines, and litter care are all handled carefully and consistently each visit. I treat each home and the cats in it with the same respect and care I would give my own. If anything unexpected comes up, I stay calm, assess carefully, and communicate promptly so the pawrent is always informed. I also make sure the home is left exactly as it was after each visit.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

I have a very soft spot for shy or anxious cats. I approach them with no expectations and lots of patience, letting them take the lead on any interactions and move at their own pace. There is nothing I love more than earning a cat’s trust. Seeing their unique personality shine through once that trust is earned is the most rewarding thing about cat sitting for me. I often spend time quietly nearby, paying close attention to their body language and making sure my presence feels calm and non-threatening. I only engage when they’re ready, and I often use gentle interaction, treats, or play when invited to help build positive associations. My goal is always to create a calm, safe space where they feel in control and reassured. I am highly attuned to small changes in behavior so they feel comfortable setting boundaries and trust those boundaries will always be respected.

Cat was the BEST cat sitter ❤️ she did overnight stays for my anxious girl so she had company while I was away for the week. Stella can be shy to new people but I could see how Cat earned her trust over their time together—she definitely knows her stuff! When I got home, everything was clean and tidy, and Stella seemed very happy. Cat also gave the best updates, there wasn’t one single time where I was wondering how things were going. She is kind and very easy to communicate with. I would highly recommend Cat!!!

An absolute lifesaver, Catherine jumped in last minute, spent extra time giving our cat love/attention, and went above and beyond by bringing in a (very large) package for us. I couldn’t have asked for better care!

We are so grateful to Catherine for taking such amazing care of our cat while we were away traveling. She was incredibly responsible, professional, and clearly genuinely loves animals. Every visit gave us complete peace of mind, and we could tell our cat absolutely adored her as well. What really touched us was that she even stopped by an extra time for free because she lived nearby, just to check in on our cat. That level of kindness and care truly meant a lot to us. It’s rare to find someone so trustworthy, attentive, and loving. We feel extremely lucky to have found Catherine, and we would absolutely ask her again in the future. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for a wonderful cat sitter!

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.

New York cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $31.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.

Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.

We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet!
