Dottie loves to scream for no reason. The vet said she's fine, she screams even if she's getting attention, etc… she's just weird, I guess? Dottie is VERY shy and timid, but ... My name is Catherine! I am a lifelong cat owner and full-time Librarian. I am an experienced and dedicated worker looking for additional work. I am a cat owner and lover, so I figured, why not sign up for Meowtel? My two cats, Winnie and Dottie are 5 and 4.

As a cat-sitter, I make sure that the cats I watch are well-fed and cared for. I respect and follow rule and instructions, play with the cats (if possible), show affection, and treat the cats I watch as my own. I am experienced in pet sitting, nannying/babysitting, and cleaning, which make me a perfect fit as a cat-sitter!

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
15 years. I grew up with cats, and then started watching family members’ cats for money when I was a tween. As I grew older, I started watching friends cats and then some dogs. I have watched anything from 1 to 5 cats at once.
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I love getting to know new cats! I love them as if they're my own. The best part about cat-sitting is getting to know their personalities!
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I have two cats! Winnie and Dottie! Winnie was rescued from a kill shelter and Dottie was found and given to an adoption agency. I’m so glad that I found both of them. They both have different and unique personalities that I love!
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I am patient and slow with getting to know timid or anxious cats! I’d approach them similar to a child that’s timid and/or anxious.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

New York cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $30.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
