*All visits include feeding, fresh water, litterbox management/updates (in case anything "sus"), and personal attention & play time with your kitties.
*I will always send you detailed updates, photos, and videos, so you can fully relax while away.
*I will always leave your home exactly as I found it - you’ll never even know I was there.

~Overnight visits are purrfect for those who value the comfort of having someone present with their cat for a longer period of time, especially if they have special needs! These visits are always at least 12 hours long (usually longer) and always include dinner feeding & breakfast the following morning.

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I have been cat sitting with Meowtel since 2022 (4 years), and many years prior to that on my own. I've also had my own cats my entire life, so my experience has been very thorough and consistent.
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
The thing I enjoy most about cat sitting are the bonds I form with the cats (as well as their pawrents!) There is nothing more rewarding than winning over and forming a close relationship with a kitty, especially a shy baby or “tough cookie.” Having them remember you and trust you fully (or even better, actually be excited to see you!) is definitely the best feeling.
Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?
My favorite cat sitting reservation was with this beautiful, shy void named Rora. She was the sweetest thing you could imagine, but painfully shy - previous sitters apparently never even saw her when they visited (which is crazy to me!) Not only was I able to win her over (entirely on her terms), but by the end of the weekend she was cozying up and sitting in my lap - unheard of! She became my princess that day, and she remains one of my favorite kitty clients. We have a very strong bond and great intuition, which I pride myself on forming with my clients.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I have 7 (!!) furry rescue children of my own: Cashmere (14); Little Mama (5); Pearl & Lionel (4); Islay (1); and Nova & Rockley (4.5 months). Cashmere is a Beth Stern foster, who came from an abusive situation. She started out very scared & aggressive, and it's been my greatest honor helping her learn to give and receive love and happiness! Little Mama, Pearl, &Lionel are a family unit! I went to adopt one, but they were all very bonded - so I took them all! Little Mama is half-Persian, and Pearl & Lionel are half-Ragdoll. Islay is a shy Scottish Fold who was dumped. He was not socialized, but since adopting him he has blossomed and really loves pets and playtime! Nova & Rockley are barn kittens from Canada, that I took in at 3 weeks old and bottle-fed. They're super healthy now, and living a very different life here in NYC!
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
We all think about the basics (food, water, litter box) when hiring a sitter, but having recently been on the other side and hiring a cat sitter myself, the most important thing for me was not just the basics but the emotional wellbeing and stress levels of my kitties! When pawrents are away, all cats will get stressed to a point - but for me, it was imperative to try to reduce that feeling as much as possible, and that goes far past the basics! Trust the vibes of the sitter (when you know, you know!) and NEVER hesitate to give as many details as possible about your cat's temperament, preferences, and personality. Never TMI - the more we know going in, the more we know what to expect and how to best cater to their individual emotional needs and make their time as stress-reducing (and fun!) as possible.
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
First, we'll send a few messages back and forth and discuss the preliminary info and give me a sense of your needs. As we get closer to your reservation, we will set up an introduction/meet and greet, where you can show me the ropes and ask me any questions you have. We'll also exchange keys/go over building/apt access at this time. I make it my top priority to make you feel as comfortable as possible and know that your kitties are in good hands! I know firsthand how nerve-wracking it can be to leave them, so making you and your furbaby comfortable will always be my top priority.
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
I always have emergency information on hand and accessible and will contact you immediately if anything feels even slightly off. I never open a window, and am extremely careful about doors while entering and leaving (no kitty can get past me, I'm too quick!) I'm very careful about cleaners and chemicals, and when I manage the litterbox every visit, I always keep an eye out to make sure a) it's being used (no FLUTD or blockages on my watch!), and b) that everything looks normal (consistency, smell, no blood, etc.). You will be kept abreast of their health and safety at all times.
Are you usually available during holidays?
Unless I am traveling or out of town myself, I am always available to work holidays! I have worked Thanksgiving and Christmas/New Years the last 4 years. I'm happy to hold down the fort for you while you are away with family - that way your kitty still has what feels like "family" here!
What is your favorite cat toy?
I love these catnip sticks from Amazon, they’re made from silvervine and sisel rope and have a dried berry that amplifies the catnip (they’re also very good for their teeth!) For interactive toys, I love the ones that look like a sack and have either a motorized ball or wands moving around underneath - my cats go bananas for them! I also love a good wand toy to get them running and leaping around.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
Shy/anxious cats are my top specialty, as well as cats with special needs and/or specific medical care. I have personally helped rehabilitate and socialize many cats over the years (including my own!). The key is PATIENCE. It is important to go nice and slowly and let the cat set the pace. Cats, shy or not, are territorial by nature - their home is their safe space, so the key is to never chase, overstimulate, or invade their safe space. I maintain distance (coming closer gradually, and ONLY on their terms); I make sure to come down to their level physically so as not to be seen as a threat; I do lots of slow blinking; and I speak very softly to them, so they start to get used to my voice. Eventually, they become curious and will engage more and more. Treats as a positive association never hurts!

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

New York cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $31.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Caitlin was so amazing in every aspect. My blind cat, who is very nervous around and avoids new people, absolutely adored her and cuddled in her lap. Caitlin also sent so many pictures and updates throughout the evening, and my kitties were clearly comfortable with her! Most importantly, my power went out and thermostat broke during her stay, and Caitlin was so gracious and patient while maintenance came to diagnose the issue. Even though she didn’t have A/C for the rest of her stay, she was truly so kind and nice about the issue. I would 1000000% recommend her and will definitely book her again!

I can’t thank Caitlin enough! Our kitty Waldo is a character and Caitlin was able to navigate his old man attitude and make best friends with him. Waldo is also a diabetic needing twice daily injections Caitlin was knowledgeable and above and beyond with his medical management, never did I worry about Waldo’s diabetes when we where away having Caitlin there with him was so comforting. Caitlin also sends amazing videos, photos, and updates which put me at ease. I can’t recommend her enough!!!! Waldo misses her already ❤️

Losing count of how many times I've used Caitlin but as always, she never disappoints! She took great care of my cat Sasha while I was away visiting family for a week, following all instructions perfectly, sending detailed updates and photos, and going above and beyond to make sure Sash was doing well. This was our first time using Meowtel but won't be the last. Caitlin immediately put us at ease when we met at the meet and greet. One of our cats who is skittish with any new people, seemed to warm up to her immediately. It is evident that Caitlin loves and knows cats well. I didn't have any concerns about her following our instructions. She provided detailed updates and took many photos and videos at each visit. She even helped us with a delivery mishap while we were away. I usually worry when coming home about how my cats will seem after time away from them. We have one cat with anxiety problems, especially when we leave the house. I felt very confident the whole week we were gone that they were in good hands with Caitlin. When we returned home, they seemed very content. It was a pleasure working with Caitlin and I highly recommend her!

Caitlin is an absolute gem 💜. Not only did she charm both my cats (Henri and Phoebe) who have different personalities, she was very thorough and took notes of all the details I gave her about them. Caitlin is such a down-to-earth person. When we did the meet and greet, it was like looking in a mirror. We had a lot in common. Our personalities just clicked! A very caring human being. What I admired the most when I read her bio was the fact that she does a lot of rescue work and was really good with shy kitties. It showed me that she loved what she did and the care she put into every fur baby she watched over. I have three boys, and Anu was diagnosed with FIP back in May 2023 and nearing the end of his treatment. Being a worrisome mama and haven’t left my baby in 115 days I was nervous being away. After receiving the first day of photos and videos, her reassurances, and seeing how loved Anu and the other boys were left my heart with ease. I saw how Anu had taken to her and how attentive she was with them gave me that peace of mind while we were away. I knew she would take care of them like they were her own. When we came home it felt like I never left. The boys miss her, of course. If you’re in search of a loving person to watch over your fur baby (ies), I highly recommend Caitlin. She is exceptional! She has the gift of cat charmer!

Caitlin was a fantastic sitter! She was easy to communicate with and gave our kitty lots of love while we were away and sent us lots of pics and updates. She even tidied up our house which was so incredibly appreciated as we were super busy before leaving for this trip. Caitlin completed exceeded our expectations. She gave us all the photos and videos. Told us about our girls behavior. We could tell they were both feeling so so loved. Truly went above and beyond. We’re SO glad we found Caitlin! We don’t travel often and we still get nervous about leaving our boy for any stretch of time, but Caitlin’s energy, experience, and considerate updates really put us at ease and made us feel confident. Caitlin is absolutely fantastic! She took such good care of our kitties . Our one senior cat had the best time. When we returned from our trip she was so lively and perky and honestly probably missed Caitlin. Caitlin went above and beyond paying attention to all out our cats needs. When we returned it was like we had never left, litter boxes were clean and everything was so fresh. Whatever you do, have Caitlin take care of your kitties. You pets will fall in love.

Amazing communication and a true cat lover, she took notes on all of the things we asked of her and consistently was in touch with how things were going.
