As a lifelong pet owner and lover, it’s important to me that your cat feels loved and social even when you're away.
I pride myself on being an expert in cat behavior. Having had cats all my life, I've encountered a plethora of personalities and quirks. This has given me a keen insight into understanding their needs, behavior patterns, and what makes them purr with contentment.
I am happy to care of any household things you may need to have done while you're away (watering plants, feeding fish, bringing in mail, etc.)
Lastly, I am also very cleanliness conscious, so I will always ensure your cats are in a clean environment, and I have the utmost respect for house rules; you will return to your home as if you never left.

My pets are my family. In my home, I have 2 amazing rescue cats - Charlie and Milo - they fill my days with joy.
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
When meeting a new cat owner, I always set up a meet-and-greet first. It's vital for me to ensure you're completely at ease with how I handle your cats and your home. During my cat-sitting sessions, I'll make it a point to notify you as soon as I arrive to spend time with your cats, respecting any specific schedules you might have. Plus, after each visit, you'll get a detailed update from me, along with cute photos and videos of your kitties.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
As a Meowtel client myself, I understand the importance of entrusting your cherished felines to someone who can create a deep, comforting bond with them during your absence. As a cat sitter, I prioritize establishing a strong connection with your kitten, with special emphasis on our initial meeting. This first interaction is crucial for building a lasting bond, ensuring your cats feel secure, loved, and at ease while you are away. On her last visit she helped care for and monitor one of my kitties who was having some mild urinary issues that I thought had resolved before I left. Lara did an amazing job! I have two kittens who are a bit scared of new people. But first visit Lara was able to get them both out playing, eating, and even for a pet! Lara sent pictures and videos of the kittens each time she visited and a synopsis of each cat to let me know they were doing well. I have already booked Lara again for a weekend I will be away. I highly recommend her!

If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

New York cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $30.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.
We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.
