During the school year, I’m available daily after 2:00 PM and for evening visits (excluding 4:00 PM–7:00 PM shelter shifts). I can easily accommodate care without strict mid-day medication requirements. Please note: my morning and daytime availability increases significantly during summer break!

Hi there! My name is Theresa. I have worked at an animal shelter for the last 4 years now. My job duties include feeding, medicating, cleaning and the just all around well being of all the cats and dogs we have!
My title, Cat Queen, was dubbed to me by the cat coordinator, but technically it was “Queen of the ferals”.
We personally have 3 dogs and 7 cats.
I also foster a lot of cats through work and I like to focus more on our fospice cats, felv+ cats and FIP kitties.
I cat sit for a few families already around our neighborhood but I’d love to expand! I treat every animal that comes into our home and that I watch as if they’re my own.

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I have worked at a shelter for 4 years now and also have been watching cats for 7 years now. We started out with my husbands coworkers cat, then expanded out to our daughters friends, then out to the neighborhood.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
My advice would be to take your time and communicate with the person you’re interested in, a little bit before so you get to know them. Trust me, I know it’s not easy just trusting anyone to watch your furr babies.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
We adopted a cat from the shelter I work at. She came to us at the age of 5 weeks old and was still there when she was a year and 3 months old. I became the only person that was able to touch her and sit next to her. I just sat there quietly and took my phone out and put bird videos on YouTube. That peaked her interest and gradually, every night she came closer and closer to me to watch the birds. Eventually, she was sitting right next to me and letting me pet her. We adopted her and she’s my little shadow to this day.

Theresa is absolutely amazing. I was so nervous leaving my 3 fur babies for the first time for vacation. She stopped over and did a meet and greet and took the time to see my babies and find out what they needed and they're routine. Roo is my most shy cat and I was thinking she may not even come out the whole time. The FIRST night I got a picture of Roo having a blast!! I highly recommend Theresa and will be booking with her again in the future!!

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Cincinnati cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $25.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
