I have always had cats and dogs in my life ever since I was a very young child but I was always more connected to cats. I unfortunately had to put my first and only pet as an adult, a 16 year old calico, down in June 2023 due to cancer. As time has softened the grief, my husband and I recently adopted some new furr-mily members. We believe that one of the greatest and simplest things you can do in your life is to care for and give a pet a loving home so we are eager to be able to do that for another pets in need... 🐾 Cat lovers unite! As I do not currently have a full time, traditional job/career, I have the ability to treat this job as my full time priority. Some other hobbies and interests of mine are crocheting, baking, tending to my garden and the occasional fun run with friends.

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
Been sitting for Meowtel for over a year now and have met a lot of really cool cats, even those that may be on the skittish side almost always end up coming out for me 😻
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I am looking forward to meeting some new furry friends while also helping their human counterparts feel at ease while they are away.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
After a year with a quiet house, my husband and I adopted 4 cats, 2 sets of bonded pairs. Two brothers, one black (Onyx) and one brown tabby (Orion) and two sisters, both tabby/calico's (Clover & Juniper).
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
After the reservation is confirmed, I like to schedule the meet & greet close to the when I would be needed for the actual reservation. I feel this is best for the cats meeting me so not a lot of time passes and also for key exchange, so I'm not holding on to clients keys for longer than needed. I feel that an in person meet & greet is best, most importantly to meet the kitty client while the pet parents are home but also to get a lay of the land, see where food/water is located as well as the litter box and anything else that may be needed during the visits. This is also a good time I like to see if there are any other specifics about the kitty, like preferences; if they have a more specific feeding times, favorite toys, quirks, etc.
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
I will ensure your cat is taken care of as if it was my own, being sure to take care at every entrance or exit, bond with the cats, and maintain open communication with the owners.
Are you usually available during holidays?
Yes, my family all lives in town so I don't travel for holidays but I will maintain a close eye on my schedule so that I am still able to have family time.
What is your favorite cat toy?
My previous cat liked anything with catnip in it. Currently my cats like feather teasers on sticks, one toy that is on a stick that chirps, laser pointer and pretty much any ball to run and play with.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
Helping timid or anxious cats requires patience, understanding, and gentle encouragement. Keeping a quiet atmosphere to not startle and letting the cat have many escape routes or places to hide to create a safe space. Play can be a good way to bond and relieve any stress as well. Even if the cat is hiding, I do like to still talk to them so they can get used to my voice.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Cleves cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $24.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.
