What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I have had cats for about 30ish years. I’ve had up to 4 at one time. I have been pet sitting cats for about 1 year and love doing it.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

I love the interaction I get with cats. Sometimes when their dog sister or brother are around, you don’t get to see their full personality. But getting to play with that cat or cats is what I love.

Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?

My favorite cat reservation was with Rose. She came from a rescue where she had kittens when she was just a kitten and wasn’t treated very well. She’s been a challenge to get to know but with patience and continuously going in her space and sitting and playing with her favorite toy, we have become pretty good friends over the past year. While she doesn’t like being picked up, she will let me love on her and give her snacks. I really love the progress she’s made with me and so are her parents. She comes down and gets snacks from them now. I hope one day she allows me to pick her up and snuggle her. It’s ok if she doesn’t.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

My kitty names are Leo and Nyla. Leo is my grand furbaby. And Nyla is my girl. They are both Mimi’s boy and mommy’s girl.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

Hire someone who is going to listen to your advice on your cat. Do they have previous cat experience? Do they have a cat at home? For me? Someone who has a cat at home over someone who doesn’t would win me over.

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

I want to understand their cat’s personalities. What their cat or cats will or will not tolerate. I love to love on cats, but if their cat isn’t a love muffin, then I’m going to learn to let their cat come to me on their terms. If that doesn’t happen, then I will respect their space. Do I want to snuggle them? Yes! Do I need to respect their space? Yes.

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

I would like to know first - are they ones who like to sneak out the door? If so, I would take precautions such as watching the door when I left or even just to check the mail. I also have considered getting a portable video camera so when I am gone to the store, I can watch for anything going on in the home. Biggest thing is making sure they don’t get out and everything is locked and secure.

Are you usually available during holidays?

I am available all major holidays to take care of drop in’s or overnights if needed. Please feel free to reach out and ask.

What is your favorite cat toy?

My favorite cat toy is the one who catches me a “catfish”!! The fishing pole!! I also like the laser as well!

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

I sit and let them get use to me and if they are food motivated, a few snacks don’t hurt! I will talk to them in a soothing voice as well.

Cancellation Policy

Customers may cancel within 24 hours of making their reservation and receive a 100% refund, and the sitter will not receive any earnings. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

Customers will receive a 100% refund to their Account Balance if they cancel anytime up to 48 hours before the start date of the reservation, and the sitter will not receive any earnings.

Customers will receive a 50% refund, and the sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings if the customer cancels between 24-48 hours of the start of the reservation.

No refund will be issued within 24 hours of the reservation, and the sitter will keep 100% of their planned earnings.
