I always have a meet and greet with clients a few days before their trip to learn more about them, their cat(s), and their home.
Because I am a graduate student, my availability is very flexible, and I am available over the holidays.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I have two cats named Belle and Pepper. They are a bonded pair, and I got them in June 2024 from a friend of a friend who needed to rehome them. Belle is a former outdoor cat and loves to sit by the front door, so I am well aware of the extreme care and attention needed to prevent runners from escaping! Your kitties are safe with me :)
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
To ensure safety and security, I make sure to obtain the vet information, nearby emergency contacts, maintenance/landlord information for apartments, remove anything that a cat may eat besides cat food (e.g., plastic, human food), ensure that the home remains the appropriate temperature (esp during extreme heat/cold), and test the spare key before leaving. Additionally, I ask that owners text me when they are safely home because I don’t want the cat left alone if there are car troubles/flight delays that impact your return time.

Yes! I am available during the holidays and would love to watch your cat then! Please contact me if interested.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
When cats are particularly timid, anxious, or shy, I’ve learned that it is best to give them space and respect their boundaries. It is very common for cats to be social during the meet and greet when their human is present, but then they are shy and scared when they arrive. It is best to not approach/touch a cat who is obviously scared, but instead give them space, a quiet environment, and a routine/feeding time that they are used to. If a cat wants to play/cuddle, great! But if they would rather be left alone, then I will respect their boundaries to keep them from being more stressed.

Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
