I currently adopted a 16 yr old cat, Marvin, that I pet sat. His owner had to move into a nursing home. Our very spoiled old lady, Smokie, passed 2 weeks later. She traveled with us on trips to Florida & also liked to camp with us. We adopted her after our cat of 18 years passed away.
I am currently just pet sitting, so my schedule is pretty open. I prefer late morning visits & into the evening. I'm not a happy person when I need to get up with an alarm clock, lol. I have insomnia, so I am a late night person. I have been pet sitting for several years now & love it!!!
I used to live in Colorado during the 80s & 90s. While living there, I raised my daughter & 2 step-sons. I worked for the Postal Service as a clerk & Office-In-Charge, filling in for Postmasters. In 2001, we moved to Homestead, FL. I then worked as a Title Processor & Closer, until a bad car accident in 2004... Hello! My name is Teresa. I have owned cats (or rather they've owned me) most of my life (50+ years). Even when I haven't owned one, cats have adopted me. My best friend calls me the Cat Whisperer.

We recently moved to a one story home in West Chester. I too had a brain stem stroke & had to stop doing steps. I'm located off I-75, so it's easy for me to get to jobs on the north, & central parts of Greater Cincinnati. I travel both corridors of 1-71 & I-75, all the way to downtown & up to Monroe. You might want to message me to make sure I service your area. This site only lets us say we service 15 miles, but if you are the only job I have, I'm willing to travel further.
I absolutely love cats & communicate well with them. Cats love me as well.
I often have neighborhood cats come up to me, even feral cats. My best friend also pet sits. When she has an issue with a cat, she asks me to come help her break the ice with the cat, or help her administrate any medication, including injections, so I have experience with that as well. My daughter always has me clip her cats nails when I'm at her house. She says they always behave better when I cut them.
I was almost 3 when we got our first cat, Tiki (I couldn't say Kitty, & my parents thought that was purr-fect for a Siamese!). She had her litter of kittens on my bed when I was 4.
If my husband (& cat) would let me, I would own more cats. I have considered fostering cats, but I don't think my cat would be happy with that decision. Instead, I visit the cats at PetSmart and Kitty Brew Cafe, in Mason. We lost our Russian Blue cat of 13 years (we adopted her as an adult through H.A.R.T. ) to a stroke. One of my customers had recently gone into a nursing facility & he asked if I would like to adopt his Tiger cat, Marvin.
I sit all creatures. I feel pet sitting really helps my anxiety I have had since my car accident in 2004. If you have other animals in your home, I am willing to care for them as well. Animals are just attracted to me, even birds & chickens!!

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I've been cat sitting for almost 7 years now professionally. I have experience with up to 10 cats in one household & also with very shy cats to cats that like to supervise & show me around. I also have experience giving pills, inhalers, & clipping nails.
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I love cats. They also calm me down. I have so much fun being entertained by them that it's easy to lose track of time!
Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?
I always feel very rewarded when a customer tells me their cat is very shy & won't spend time with me. But then they get curious & come out to spend time with me. It's so rewarding!!
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
We currently have a male tiger cat named Marvin. He's 16. I inherited him from one of my customers who had to go to a nursing facility. He is a real character & is always entertaining us. I had one very spoiled female Russian Blue whom we adopted almost 13 years ago, as an adult. Unfortunately, she had a stroke in late July & we had to put her down. Her name was Smokie. Our previous cat, who we had 18 years, was a grey tuxedo named Tootsie, who we also adopted. We also owned 2 other cats, brother & sister, who we named Pebbles (a tortie) & Bamm Bamm (strawberry blonde).
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
Provide the sitter with all pertinent information on the cats, vet info, emergency number, favorite toy, where the food is kept, location of litter boxes, cats habits, cats likes & dislikes.
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
I explain what services each of my visits include, that I will send an update of how the visit went along with pictures & videos after each visit. I ask about the cats favorite toys, where the food & litter box are, & if they take any meds.
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
I make sure no cats are near the door when I arrive so no one escapes. I also make sure everything is locked up & no one tries to escape when I leave. I bring in mail & leave a different light on, just so it looks like people are home.
Are you usually available during holidays?
I usually am available 24/7, 365 days a year. Occasionally I take a vacation. I might have to start slowing down now that my husband has altzheimers
What is your favorite cat toy?
All cats seem to love my wands with things attached to them. I have a "Mary Poppins" bag full of toys the cats crawl in & get out toys they want to play with. I also have cats who fall in love with YEOWWW brand toys. Upon meeting new customers, I give them a small YEOWWW toy.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I let them slowly get used to me visiting, lying next to the bed they usually hide under. I've even been known to crawl under a bed and just talk softly to them.

What amazed us most is how quickly the cats took to her. Paulie is a 15-year-old rescue with serious trust issues who has never let anyone outside our family get close to him with a brush — Teresa brushed him and he didn't even flinch. And Todd, who communicates using recordable buttons and in over four years had only ever used them with me, actually talked to her with his buttons and asked her for a brushing. That has never happened with anyone else, ever. She sent us updates after every visit, kept the litter boxes and water dishes exactly as asked, and left everything in perfect order when we got home. Our cats were calm, happy, and clearly well loved while we were gone. We would book Teresa again without a second's hesitation — she is truly one of a kind.

Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

Schedule Constraints
I walk dogs around 10:30-2 weekdays. I have volunteer meetings the 1st Tuesday of each month & the 2nd&3rd Thursday evenings monthly. I used to do overnights, but no longer can. My husband was just diagnosed with Altzheimers.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

West Chester cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $24.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Teresa was so amazing to our babies! I had a last minute trip amid all kinds of issues, and I wasn't sure if we'd even go, as I'm new to the area and wanted to be sure the right person had the time to check in on the two kitties. One is shy, and one loves to hide his sweet personality under the bed. Even so, I got pics of his little face peering out when he wasn't feeling like posing in the living room (a very nice bonus since anyone has to get the shot on the floor). Both got treats, love, clean boxes, and even the bi-weekly furball type situation was cleaned even though I said we could handle it! I was asked all kinds of good questions re toys, any medications, door entry preferences (i.e., what would be least jarring to them), etc. I received a nice, long update after every visit with lots of pics! The more social kitty was thrilled by the scratches and play time. Both really did so well, ate well and were back to normal as soon as we re-settled. This trip was longer than any I'd taken from them (about a full week with multiple visits), so this was extra effort - even the extra boxes, food dishes and water bowls I laid out in multiple locations were tended to/filled between visits. I can't thank Teresa enough for her help and hope I'll be able to utilize her services on any short getaways in the future!!

Our sitter Teresa was FANTASTIC from the first meet and greet until the day we arrived back home! Not only did she INSTANTLY bond with our cat Luna, but she brought over toys to help get Luna to come out of hiding so that she would eat and could be played with while Teresa was there. Teresa also provided great photos of Luna as well as a wonderful recap of her daily visits. In the past we have had a neighbor stop by while we were gone to assist with our cat, but she would only say that Luna never came out of hiding. We will definitely use Teresa again for our sitter, she truly made Luna feel like part of the family was right there with her while we were out of town!

Teresa is very connected with cats and my cats liked the way she was so calm around them. She had to give meds to my big cat Smokey and he’s a bit hard to handle with new people but he softened up to her after a day or two. She was trustworthy and sent pictures of my guys every visit. Teresa did a great job taking care of my cats while I was out of town for a long weekend. She ensured all cats ate, even my very shy Chazzy. She sent pics and all cats were well taken care of. Chazzy was hiding in a closet and she made sure she left food for her there and also stayed and played/interacted with the other cats.
