The moment you discover something very unique about a pet, that the pet parents didn't tell you, and you share it with them, and they realize you have really gotten to know their cat(s), is monumental. With my years of background in rescue, I also can not stress how important it is to have someone outside the family who your cat likes and is familiar with in case of many situations such as; a delay returning from a trip due to weather, a vehicle failure or an emergency such as a hospital stay... I have volunteered, fostered, and helped with rescues for over 25 years. We do have cats in our family, but I also enjoy the comfort and assurance I provide to human clients when they are away from their furbabies. It brings me joy to care for, play and cuddle with the kitties, and it warms my heart to send their human parents pictures, videos and updates while they are away.

Outside of pet sitting, I am married and have one human child. I have a commercial van for transport including vet visits, grooming appointments and help moving pets. My life revolves around pets and I am very blessed to be in this field. I am enrolled to begin cat behavior and training courses spring of 2026. I am fascinated by how cats "behave" and am eager to learn more.
When searching for a sitter for your babies, a free, in-person meeting is best in my opinion. However, please keep in mind that your cats may act differently when family is there than they do when you are away. Don't worry if your cat(s) hide or don't socialize at the meet and greet. They may be completely different when family is not in the house. This meeting does allow the kitties to get my scent, hear my voice and see me and gather information for feeding, cleaning and playtime from the pet parent.

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I have been cat sitting for 8 years. I started cat sitting for a friend who was traveling, then I started sitting for deployed military personnel. I have fostered cats for 30+ years. I am just starting cat behavior training and am so excited to embark on this new journey!
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I enjoy discovering the cat's personality and how their personalty interacts with me as opposed to the kitty parents. Sometimes it is the same, sometimes the parents are very surprised.
Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?
I don't really have a favorite cat sitting reservation because they vary so much. I have many that I only sit for while the parents are away, but I do have a few that I sit for every week. I have some kitty clients that I have only met once or twice and some that I have known for years.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
Yes, I have Raven, Poe and Milly. All three girls, all three crazy. Raven and Poe are sisters, Millie is a year older.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
Of the probably 100s of cats I have cared for, some take to me immediately and some take months to warm up. Don't get discouraged.
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
The process for working with a new cat parent is usually a meet and greet or two if necessary where feeding, litterbox habits, medications and toys and playtime are discussed. I have a list of questions I ask. I answer cat parent questions. Then we move forward from there.
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
For safety of cats, I am very ninja like in my ability to slip in and out of doors without allowing a cat to get passed me, although, I prefer entering the home through the garage so that I have double-gating available. I also carry a very large cardboard in my car. If necessary, I can hold this in front of myself when entering the home. I always keep doors locked while I am in the home for the sit and when I leave. I keep outside lights on at night when possible and reset alarms as I exit. I also change times that I arrive and depart, keep mail and newspapers collected and often drive away, then circle back past the house from the other direction.
Are you usually available during holidays?
I am usually available during holidays, but they do fill up early and fast! Please let me know your travel dates as soon as you know!
What is your favorite cat toy?
My favorite cat toy would be a tie between the laser pointer and the spinny circle. I like both. Sometimes a regular flashlight is fun too
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I handle shy and anxious cats however the pet parent feels comfortable. Some cats just want to be left alone and I respect that. So.e cats take a really long time to warm up to new people and I respect that too.

Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
