I love everything about these little bundles of pure joy. I speak softly and wait until they approach me. If they let me, I brush them or nuzzle their chins or ears. I’ve been called a “cat whisperer” in the past and currently have three boys of my own.

I believe letting the animal set the pace is important so as not to cause stress and overwhelm them. Giving room and space is just as important as petting and nuzzling them.

They are dependent upon us humans to take good care of them.

Learn More About Kami

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I actually watched my neighbors cats for years when they would go on vacation. And, when there was only one left and on specific meds and foods, I went by the algorithm my neighbors set out for me to follow.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

I love meeting new cats and taking as good of care of these precious beings as I do my own. I believe in taking care of all animals as if they were my own.

Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?

Just being able to do this job as a cat sitter is pretty awesome. I should have worked with the big cats at the zoo! To take care of these little beings is really a pleasure and HUGE responsibility! I also love learning and distinguishing their personalities.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I have three boys, all strays or giveaways: Obie, a tabby mix; Two Socks, a tuxedo, and Bosco, a black cat with black stripes but with a white undercoat.

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

I like to meet the new potential client/cat parent about a month out if possible. Go through everything related to the needs of the furkids. Ask if they have any questions for me. Remind them of the message center where we can stay in touch and where I will be sending updates, photos and video from my home visits.

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

I’m very aware of the the front door where I am entering the location in that I don’t want any furkids slipping out. I open that door gently and slowly so if any furkids are on the other side, it gently pushes them back but also I make sure no little babe is sitting there ready to bounce out the door. I check windows to make sure that the furkids won’t fall out an open window or even a screen. Safety first always with these little guys.

Are you usually available during holidays?

Yes! I am free for all the upcoming holidays in 2025. I am ready to take care of your beloved furkids so you won’t worry while you’re away.

What is your favorite cat toy?

My favorite toy is whatever the furkids’ fav toy du jour is!! They’re the boss after all! I always ask the cat parent first and sometimes the furkid will let me know.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

Soft voice always. Just sit and see if the cat will come to me using a soft voice. I’m slow and gentle with all animals. I never rush them. They need time to get to know me; to learn my voice.

Kami went above and beyond for our kitties. Even going so far to research how to properly give one of our kitties his inhaler and making sure he got his prescription food. She played with our fur babies, gave them lots of attention, and made them feel extra loved. Kami is very detail oriented and sends quick and thorough communication including beautiful photography of our kitties. Kami is awesome!

Kami was wonderful! From the first meeting, I could see how thorough Kami was by the questions she asked and the notes she was taking. Kami was an excellent communicator - every day sending detailed notes on my cats, as well as lovely photos. Kami also went the extra step and picked up my mail, as well. I am thrilled to have found Kami and look forward to trusting her again with my fur-kids.

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.

Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.

We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet!
