I currently have one sassy kitty of my own, named Khaleesi who has hyperthyroidism, so I'm no stranger to health issues or giving a cat a pill... I am a cat-loving lady and I've been loving on and taking care of cats for my entire life. I am a calm energy that cats are often drawn to and have a good knack for reading their feline body language. I will be able to make your baby(ies) feel safe and calm while you're away!

I have one kitty, named Khaleesi and she is a spicy and sassy gal. She is part Maine Coon so she has a very unique, dog-like personality and she thrives off of attention and pets. She has taught me so much about body language and how quickly some kitties can become overstimulated while seemingly still enjoying themselves.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
Look for someone who makes you feel confident and comfortable, and is responsive to your messages; someone who is willing to meet before and is not afraid to ask questions if there is something unclear in the care instructions. You want to feel like you are leaving your cat in the best possible care, and your cat sitter should show an interest in providing that for you. :)
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
My kitty is a timid and anxious girl especially when something like her parents being gone and a stranger being in the house happens. The main thing is patience and checking in, while letting them lead the level of interaction that occurs. If the kitty is food or treat motivated, those can be a helpful tool to coax them out and get them to interact or play. Similarly, if they're motivated by a certain toy, that can allow for some bonding play time too. The main thing is not to rush the cats that are hesitant and meet them where they're at while still making them feel safe and getting them taken care of.

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Eugene cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $27.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
