Hey there cat lovers! I’m Vered, a lifelong cat person and experienced cat sitter!

I’ve had cats for over 20 years and have been involved in their care since I was a kid. These days, I work as a veterinary assistant, so I’m comfortable with everything from nail trims and pilling to injections and IV fluids. More importantly, I understand how to meet cats where they are—whether that means giving them space, engaging in play, or offering some quiet company.

I’ve had cats for over 20 years and have been involved in their care since I was a kid. These days, I work as a veterinary assistant, so I’m comfortable with everything from nail trims and pilling to injections and IV fluids. More importantly, I understand how to meet cats where they are—whether that means giving them space, engaging in play, or offering some quiet company.

My approach is simple: I let the cat take the lead. If they’re feeling social, I’m happy to cuddle or play. If they’re more reserved, I’ll give them the time and space to get comfortable at their own pace. I’ve spent so much time with cats that reading their body language feels second nature, and I always adjust to what makes them feel safest. Even if your cat prefers to hide, I’ll be a calm presence so they never feel alone or pressured.

At home, I have two sassy calicos who keep life interesting, and my family’s oldest cat just turned 21. I love getting to know different cats and their unique personalities, and I’d be happy to care for yours while you’re away!

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I have been pet sitting since high school, which would be over 10 years ago. I have my own kitties, have taken care of friends and family pets and have been paid for cat sitting as well.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

Simply put, I just adore cats. I love watching them, playing with them and getting to know their different unique personalities. Being a cat owner myself, I love being able to give others that peace of mind that their fur babies are well taken care of when they are away.

Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?

In my last cat sitting reservation, one of the cats was very shy. She would sometimes come out and smell me a bit, but would always run away if I tried to pet her. I didn’t push her and just hung around and spent time with her from a distance. On the last day of the reservation, she slowly walked over and curled up in my lap! It made me so happy to finally win her over with patience and care. That’s always my goal with shy or timid cats and I find it very rewarding to make them feel safe.

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

I will come for an introduction visit a couple of days before the reservation starts to borrow a key and meet you and your kitty. We’ll go over routine, preferences and feeding instructions before you go on your trip.

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

I always make sure to open the door slowly in case your kitty is an escape artist, and shut and lock the door behind me. I will then do a quick check around the house when the cat is eating their meal and always double check I locked when I leave.

Are you usually available during holidays?

We usually celebrate holidays early due to travel costs so I will most likely be available! I do have a holiday surcharge as I am likely to have multiple reservations around this time

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

I try to keep it low pressure for cats that are scared and prefer to keep their distance, I usually always sit on the floor to be less intimidating and let them come to me if and when they want. If they are acting aggresive and territorial I will do what is required to keep them healthy and fed and leave to not further increase their stress.

Vered is friendly, responsive, and professional, and my cats warmed up to her quickly. She sends lots of photos and comprehensive updates with each visit, and follows all care instructions. I was relieved to have a cat sitter who knew what she was doing so I could enjoy my vacation without worry. I'm moving out of town, but if I wasn't, I'd be a repeat client. Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.

All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
