I’m a kind person ... Hi, I’m Kimmy and I have had cats since the day I was born! I can remember all the names of the cats I’ve ever owned. I love meeting new cats while on walks in the neighborhood, I also enjoy hanging out with my friends’ cats as much as I enjoy spending time with my friends! Cats truly rule everything around me. If it’s not cats, I’m not interested (have several cat tattoos as well as a portrait of one of my best friends).
I’m a kind person who would love to help keep your mind peaceful while away from home, making sure your furry friend is well taken care of in your place. I know firsthand how unsettling it feels being gone for a chunk of time and not being home to make sure my own cats are okay.

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I started cat sitting with Meowtel September of 2024, but I have been watching friends’ cats for decades. I also have had my own cats since I was a kid and when I moved out on my own
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I love being able to meet so many new cats! I genuinely love cats with all my heart, and they are my favorite animal. I also enjoy being able to give you peace of mind while you’re away that your furry pal is being well taken care of so you can enjoy your trip or focus on work, whatever your need may be!
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
Dolce (like the fashion brand) - Miss Dolce Marie is a 14 year old princess. She is a domestic shorthair tortoise shell and she is my shadow. Dolce has a split colored nose/face, where one half is an orange cat and the other is the classic brown tabby. Ozzy is the baby of the family, he recnrtly turned five years old in April. He’s a tuxedo boy and has black freckles on his nose. He loves to stand up on his back legs to see who’s outside and what’s going on. Ozzy also loves to sit in boxes and has his own box that I cannot recycle or he would be sad. Both of these guys are super chatty and love to greet me at the door when I get home from work or running errands. I’ve had both since they were two months old.
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
We will set up a time for a free meet and greet, and for me to grab your key. At that time I’ll have you show me where the kitty esstenials are and the routine you’d like for me to go through with them. This is also be a good opportunity for you to ask me questions as well!
Are you usually available during holidays?
I stay in town for the holidays, so always free for the holidays. Only holiday I may be unavailable for is the 4th of July, Dolce is scared of the fireworks so I stay home to comfort her.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
For shy/anxious cats I would never crowd them or seek them out. I would sit quietly and allow them to come out and feel comfortable around me. I also would go about freshening water, scooping litter, and re-upping kibble as you would when home as to give them some sense of normalcy. It’s okay to be shy!

Kimmy was absolutely fantastic! She was a great and timely communicator and was a pleasure to work with. Our senior cat Leia just had surgery when Kimmy was checking in on her and was able to give her medications and Leia very quickly trusted her. Kimee was absolutely amazing, such a gem. She was very communicative & spent time at our initial meeting to make sure I felt comfortable with her. She sent really sweet photos & updates right away with visits & by the end had my shy cat greeting her at the door. Kimmy did a great job with Freckle and my place! I could tell from the pics that Freckle was getting a lot of playtime and snuggles. also, Kimmy cleaned up some vomit (thank you!) and bought us a new dustpan when ours broke as she was cleaning the litter box area. Would definitely book again!

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Portland cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $29.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.
We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.
