I started pet and house sitting for family members learning the ins and outs of what is required to care for different types of animals. Being in a familiar setting helped me to feel comfortable while learning the pet's routine and care requirements. When my own senior cats' health started to decline, I started to learn how apply medical attention to animals with specific health issues. I graduated to unfamiliar settings and animals a few years ago and felt comfortable applying the techniques I learned from the animals I knew most of my life. Since then, I have been able to take care of pets with multiple types of health issues and specific routines.

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I have had cats all my life, so that began my experience of caring for them. Throughout my seven years of pet sitting, a lot of my gig were with cats at all stages of their lives. I first learned to administer IVs and other more invasive medication routes through my senior cats, but Iāve now become pretty comfortable with providing any type of care required for kitties.
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I am naturally more of a cat person and much like one myself, so I tend to just enjoy being around them. Any time I get a request for a cat, I get pretty excited to set up the gig. I enjoy sharing a space with cats as their calm and independent energy is comforting to be around. I have also learned how to gauge the boundaries and demeanor of the animals I watch early on, so we often have a pleasant stay.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I have two kitties! Two females named Mali and Freddie (we thought Freddie was a boy when we found her) We adopted Mali when she was 6 weeks old, and she has been glued to my hip since we brought her home. Freddie wandered onto our porch with her mom when she was 6 months, and we just had to bring the little chonk inside.

Kim is AMAZING! I have a Morkie that is diabetic and has Cushings Disease; Kim cares for Lucy and loves her as much as I love her. When I leave for a business trip or vacation I only trust Kim to care for my precious baby! Kim texts me updates, with pictures, letting me know when she gave Lucy her insulin and medications. She knows how much I miss Lucy when I leave so I even get, "here is your Lucy fix picture for the day". I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend Kim; she is second to NONE!

If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

California cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $26.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
