Cat Sitting in Doylestown, PA

Hi, I’m Trish.

I believe good cat care starts with paying attention.

Some cats want to greet you at the door and tell you everything that happened while you were gone. Some want to play. Some want company from across the room. And some would prefer you refill the food, scoop the litter box, and kindly mind your own business.

I’m good with all of them.

I’ve spent years professionally caring for animals in their own homes, and one thing I’ve learned is that trust can’t be rushed, especially with cats. I take the time to learn each cat’s routine, personality, boundaries, and all the little things that make them them.

My visits are calm and unhurried. I’ll take care of meals, fresh water, litter, and the practical things first, then spend the rest of our time based on what your cat actually wants. That might mean playtime, brushing, affection, sitting together quietly, or simply being a familiar presence nearby.

I’m also an observer. I pay attention to appetite, energy, litter box habits, behavior, and anything that seems a little different from normal. You’ll get thoughtful updates and photos so you know how things are going while you’re away.

Most importantly, I don’t expect cats to behave a certain way for me. Shy cats don’t need to become social. Independent cats don’t need to cuddle. Cautious cats are allowed to take their time.

Every cat has their own way of being.

I meet them there.

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I’ve been professionally caring for pets for several years, including cats with all kinds of personalities, routines, and comfort levels. I’ve cared for the cats who meet me at the door, the ones who supervise everything from a safe distance, seniors who need a little extra attention, and the ones I may barely see at all. Experience has taught me that good cat care isn’t one size fits all. I learn their routine, pay attention to their personality, and let them show me what they’re comfortable with.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

Getting to know who they are. Cats have such distinct personalities, and I love figuring out what makes each one comfortable. Some want to play. Some want affection. Some just want you to sit nearby and exist with them. And there’s something especially good about the moment a cautious cat decides, entirely on their own, that maybe you’re okay after all.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

I let them decide. I don’t pull a hiding cat out, corner them, or try to convince them that we need to be friends. I keep things calm, move slowly, give them space, and let them get used to having me in their home. Sometimes that means sitting quietly nearby. Sometimes it’s a little play from a comfortable distance. And sometimes my job is simply to take care of everything they need and leave them feeling safe. Trust looks different for every cat, and I don’t rush it. If they eventually decide to come say hello, that’s their choice, which makes it that much better.

If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.

Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.

We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet!
