Looking after cats is my passion. From playtime and snuggles to window watching, every visit focuses on your cat’s comfort and routine.

Medications? No problem. I am experienced with oral, topical and injectable medications and always use a calm gentle approach to keep stress low. I’ve supported cats with diabetes, asthma, arthritis, cancer, heart issues, urinary blockages and kidney disease. My own cat Nemo once slipped outside and was lost for over a week during winter storms. Thanks to The Lost Cat Finder, we were reunited, which makes me extra vigilant when it comes to door darters and escape ninjas.

My life revolves around cats, scuba diving and gardening including growing my own catnip. I share my home with two bonded pairs: The Boys, Nemo and Herbie and The Monsters, Rio and Fiji. Over the years, I’ve welcomed nine cats of my own and fostered many others. I am a non-smoker.

I authored Tails of the Cat Sitter: Tales of Cats, Chaos & Cuddles, a heartwarming and humorous book celebrating my unforgettable cat clients. It is available on Amazon and I’m currently working on a second book.

As your cat sitter I treat every kitty as if they were my own. My schedule fills quickly especially during holidays so booking early is recommended. You can trust me to keep your cats safe happy and loved while you’re away.

So don’t wait; let’s make your kitties’ next vacation (and yours) a purrfectly pawsome one! 🐾

Learn More About Hillary

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I have been professionally cat sitting since 2020 and have cared for cats throughout my adult life. I learned the most from my own cats, who had a variety of medical issues, personalities, and special needs. I work with cats of all ages and temperaments, give oral, topical and injectable medications, maintain routines, and manage health or behavioral challenges.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

What I enjoy most about cat sitting is connecting with each cat and supporting their well-being. I love discovering their unique personalities, earning their trust, and forming genuine bonds. Creating a safe, comfortable and playful environment for them while their owners are away is deeply rewarding and makes every visit fulfilling and joyful.

Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?

My favorite cat sitting reservations are the ones where I form a genuine connection with the cat. I especially enjoy befriending shy, timid or feisty kitties, building trust and creating a comfortable environment. The most rewarding experiences go beyond basic care, allowing me to provide personalized attention that leaves both the cat and their human happy and at ease.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I am servant to four adorable kitties, two sets of bonded pairs. The boys - Nemo & Herbie and The Monsters - Rio & Fiji

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

Choosing a Meowtel cat sitter ensures the best for your feline friend. I bring a wealth of experience and stellar references, assuring top-notch care. With exceptional communication skills, I'll keep you updated on your cat's well-being. My deep understanding of feline behavior creates a stress-free environment. Skilled in medication administration and following a Fear-Free approach, your cat's health & happiness are my priorities. Opt for my dedicated care to provide your cat with the best possible experience while you're away.

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

My advice for anyone hiring a cat sitter is to prioritize a thorough intake during the meet and greet. I focus on your cat’s specific needs, routines and preferences, covering feeding, litter box habits, medications, playtime and emergency plans. Taking the time to discuss the details ensures a personalized approach and builds trust, giving both you and your cat confidence while you’re away.

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

After losing and then finding Nemo (yes, I know how that sounds) with The Lost Cat Finder’s help, in a real-life Finding Nemo adventure, I became extra vigilant about exits. I always check that doors and windows are secure, especially when they’re left open for “fresh air,” and use strategies to manage cats prone to darting. My focus is creating a safe and secure environment while staying proactive and attentive to every cat’s safety.

Are you usually available during holidays?

Yes, I’m generally available during holidays, but my schedule fills quickly. I recommend booking early to secure your dates. For repeat clients, if my calendar looks full, send me a note - I prioritize returning clients and will do my best to accommodate your needs.

What is your favorite cat toy?

My favorite cat toy is always the one your cat loves. I bring a variety of engaging toys and puzzles, including handmade Luv Socks with homegrown catnip, to keep playtime fun and exciting.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

I handle timid or anxious cats with patience and gentle care, creating a calm environment and letting them acclimate at their own pace. For aggressive or territorial cats, I often let them set the pace, ignoring them at first and allowing them to decide how we will interact. I build trust through positive interactions, play and treats, always respecting their cues and following routines to ensure a safe and positive experience.

Our meet-and-greet was thorough, and Hillary was pleasant, knowledgeable, and clearly experienced with cats. My cat was in good spirits when I returned home, the litter box was clean, food and water were handled appropriately, and my home was tidy overall. However, two very explicit instructions were disregarded, which is why I could not rate this experience more highly. First, I clearly instructed Hillary both verbally and in writing not to give my senior cat catnip because it makes her sick. When I returned home, there was a large pile of catnip on the windowsill. When I asked about it, she told me she saw catnip among my cat’s supplies and decided to give it to her anyway. Second, I specifically instructed that certain rooms remain closed and off-limits to my cat. I had shut those rooms tightly before leaving and made all necessary supplies easily accessible elsewhere. When I came home, one of the rooms was open and there was cat vomit on the floor inside. The issue for me was not cleanliness or general care — those aspects were fine. The issue was that the two most important instructions regarding my senior cat’s well-being were intentionally disregarded. Pet sitters should follow the pet owner’s instructions carefully rather than substituting their own judgment, especially with older animals and known sensitivities.

Response from Hillary

Thank you for your honest feedback. I take full accountability for not following your instructions regarding catnip and ensuring the room stayed closed. I understand why that impacted your trust, especially with your senior cat and clearly stated care instructions.

Hillary by far met and exceeded our expectations. Even the meet and greet was above and beyond. She is very professional and takes her job as cat sitter very seriously. She truly loves what she does, and it shows! Our meet and greet was very through, covering all the basics, and she went on to make a spreadsheet with all the info, which I personally loved, as I love organization. Our cat is VERY shy when it comes to new people. It often takes a long time for him to get comfortable with others. Once he gets to know you, he is super affectionate. With Hillary, he did hide for the meet and greet, but the first day she arrived as cat sitter when we were away, he was active, playing, and gobbling up all the Churus she was giving him! My heart burst seeing him be so open with someone so new to his world. That alone puts Hillary as the first line of contact for a cat sitter for us when we travel! Something I especially loved about her, though it may seem insignificant to others, is how she wanted to know that we got back ok, that our cat was doing well, and that if for some reason we didn’t get back when we were supposed to, to let her know if we needed her to stop by again. That is true dedication, compassion, and customer service all wrapped up in one extraordinary cat sitter! Thank you for all you do, Hillary! We will be sure to book you when whenever we are in need of a cat sitter!

Hillary was absolutely outstanding. She did a thorough meet and greet, took the time to introduce herself to my cats, and made sure she gathered all the information she needed before I left. While I was away, she truly went above and beyond, she gave my cats their own little vacation. She spent quality time with them brushing, playing, and interacting, not just stopping in for the basics. She sent detailed updates with photos and videos at every visit, which were exciting to receive and gave me total peace of mind knowing they were being cared for so well. One of my cats can be very moody and feisty, and Hillary handled him with incredible patience and understanding. She even checked in about my travel plans to make sure everything was covered until I was safely home. I couldn’t recommend her more highly.

Hillary is exactly what I’ve been looking for in a cat sitter. My cat Cody is shy and doesn’t like anyone but me pretty much, but with the help of Bird TV, treats, and lots of active play- Hillary won Cody’s heart. She has a client for life.

She has made incredible progress with our cat Bonchon. He has a history of anxiety and aggression but was well behaved (a few hisses aside) for the duration of our trip. She is very thoughtful and tailors her approach to the individual cat’s needs. Highly recommend to anyone looking for an experienced and caring cat sitter.

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.

Havertown cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $27.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.

Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.

We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet!
