I have two cats of my own, Daisy and Macchiato, who I adore. They’re so sweet, unique, and silly, and I love dedicating my time to caring for them and making them happy. Before adopting my cats, I spent many years volunteering at animal shelters, where I gained hands-on experience with cats of all ages and temperaments. I’ve even fostered kittens, so I understand how to provide patient, attentive care - whether your cat is shy, playful, or in need of extra love while you’re away.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

I enjoy getting to spend time with cats and making sure they feel safe, happy, and cared for while their owners are away. Every cat has a unique personality, and I love earning their trust and learning their quirks. It’s rewarding to know that I’m helping both the cat and their owner feel at ease. I also find joy in the little moments, such as a shy cat slowly warming up to me or a playful kitten running around. As a compassionate and helpful person, being able to provide comfort and companionship to cats is something I truly love.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

Yes! I have two cats named Daisy and Macchiato. I adopted Daisy when she was a tiny kitten, and I really enjoyed getting to see her grow up. She’s so confident and friendly; she loves to explore new places and meet new people. I adopted Macchiato more recently, only a few months ago. She’s so relaxed and sweet. She’s actually sitting in my lap as I type this! After warming up to each other, Daisy and Macchiato became friends and are now inseparable. They constantly run around and play with each other, and I’m so glad I decided to adopt each of them. Spending time with them is one of the best parts of my day.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

My priority is to make them feel safe and comfortable letting them set the pace. I move slowly, avoid sudden movements or loud noises, and allow them to observe me from a distance without pressure. Instead of forcing interaction, I use a calm voice, blink slowly to show I’m not a threat, and sometimes offer treats or a toy. I also pay close attention to their body language to understand their comfort level and respect their boundaries. If a cat prefers to hide, I let them, but I’ll check in to ensure they’re eating, drinking, and using their litter box. Over time, as they realize I’m there to care for them and not to intrude, they often become more comfortable. My goal is to make the experience as stress-free as possible.

Julianne is reliable, communicative, and overall an absolutely fantastic cat sitter. With four cats and two guinea pigs, our house can be quite a handful, but she handled everything seamlessly and gave each of our animals great care and attention. We are new to the area and had just moved in about two weeks before her care window, so the house was still mid-unpacking, with some rooms still in a mild state of incompleteness, and the guinea pigs set up in a temporary space. Julianne rolled with it effortlessly and it never impacted the excellent care she gave our pets. We were especially grateful to find such a trustworthy sitter so quickly through Meowtel. She sent us pictures every day she cared for our crew, which we really appreciated. Our animals were happy and well cared for, and we’re already looking forward to rebooking with Julianne for our upcoming trips!
