What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I have had cats myself and cat sit for friends and family my entire life. From the super spicy rescue of my friend to the mixed back that is a rescue cage room, from kittens to the geriatric, I have sat them all. I can’t say I don’t have my ear wounds, but I can say I know exactly why I got them and when I earned them.
Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?
My friends were going to a dinner and asked me to house and cat sit, more for their freshly rescued baby than for the house. Unfortunately, the freshly rescued baby wasn’t pleased with someone who was Not A Parent in the house with them, and spend the first two days taking swipes at me. In response, I started dropping towels and pillowcases on her when she started it. After an extended period of disgruntled glaring that I wasn’t letting her bully me, I woke up the next morning to her, still glaring, purring on my chest.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I have two currently, both my partner and I came in with one. Mine is a 5 year old tabico named Tabby, who will go between lightly animated pillow to possessed gremlin. My partner’s is Chichio, who is an 11 year old black cat, who is a perfect angel in the form of a FNAF animatronic who screams. I love them both more than I could possibly express.

In every photo Callie looked completely comfortable and happy with her being there. I will certainly have Mary Rose come to take care of Callie any time we go away. Mary Rose has been a wonderful cat sitter for my two gentle-natured cats. I never have to worry when I have them in Mary Rose's care. From keeping up with routine and feeding schedules, Mary Rose takes time to handle playtime with the more playful one, or takes everything slow and steady with my more skittish one, who rarely likes anyone outside of my partner and me. Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Philadelphia cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $26.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
