What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I have been cat sitting for about 8 years now. My cat sits have been anywhere from daily check-in’s to 3-month long in-house sits. I have watched up to 2 cats at a time. I am comfortable with both indoor and indoor/outdoor cats. I am comfortable with giving medications (oral, topical, or injectable).
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I love cats and getting to meet new ones all the time! They bring such calm and peace to our hectic human lives. I truly believe they can be like therapy for us and I also like to believe we are for them as well. I love the moment when a cat realizes they trust me and break the anxiety barrier to come sit with me or play with me, it’s one of the best feelings! I also know how stressful it can be leaving your beloved pet while you’re away and I like to give peace of mind to owners that their cat will be well taken care of and loved by me!
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
I am always cautious to be sure I ask the owners any special things I need to know - about the cats and about their home. Ensuring use of security systems, properly locking doors, and keeping cats out of any unsafe areas of the home are key. The cat’s safety is my main priority so I will always ensure I am touching base with the owners to update them as needed and ask questions if I need to. I deal with any issues that arise calmly - past incidents have included a flooding toilet and a leaking backyard pipe. I make sure to alert the owner right away and make sure I have proper emergency contacts nearby if needed!

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
