Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
I grew up with 2 cats, Max and Maya! Max was a tuxedo cat and Maya was a tabby. Now I have my own kitty named Squirrel! She is 5 and the definition of a velcro kitty :)
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
I really value getting the chance to meet the cat I’ll be sitting in advance to learn about their behaviors and what works well for their parents. If they are escape artists or there are any specific safety practices that work well for the cat and their family, I will do everything in my power to maintain those as normal.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
My own cat is very anxious, so I have a lot of experience here. I always give a cat space to interact at whatever level they want, including hiding from strangers. I try to spend time sitting with cats, even if from afar, to show that I am a safe person and they can approach when they’re ready.

I cannot recommend Anna enough. She is extremely detail-oriented, consistent (she came at the time I requested every single day and was conscious of how long my cat was left home alone), and will truly take care of your animal(s). She has very reasonable rates and always provides lots of photos and updates on how your cat is doing. She eased a lot of my anxiety traveling without my kitty, and overall made my trip a great experience knowing my 🐱 was safe and sound. I would most definitely book with her again!!

Discovering Anna has been a true gift! We’ve only had our rescues for a year and leaving them for even a day gave us - & them - anxiety. Anna came for a meet & greet to get the layout of the house, supplies, & catkid needs. We did a test night (mostly for us) before a longer trip. Anna is thoughtful, observant, & patient - sends photos, communicates changes in behavior & really gives us (fur kids & alike) a sense of comfort & peace.

Anna was great watching after my kitty. She reported in with pictures each time. She got a "good report" from my kitty, too, who actually came out and talked to her a few times. Anna was also very considerate with keeping an eye on the temperature in the apartment as it turned very cold while I was away. She closed windows and checked that everything was fine with the pipes. Much appreciated!

Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Pittsburgh cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $26.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
