My name is Jade. My love for cats all started when I was six years old with my beautiful cat Whiskers. She was a gorgeous tuxedo kitty with a diva presence. I love cats because they love on their own terms, they're affectionate and they're the best teachers of consent. Growing up mixed race I saw my cat who was black and white (similar to myself) was in ways a twin spirit of mine in feline form. Even through her spicy and sassy moments she was the sweetest girl. My cat Whiskers passed away in November 2010. I decided to name my cat sitting business in honor of her. In 2012 my family adopted our handsome orange tabby boy Simba aka Simba Ya. He's now 12 years old and still acts like a kitten. I'm a dancer, actor, singer and musician... Hi friends and cat purrents!

He's now 12 years old and still acts like a kitten. I'm a dancer, actor, singer and musician. I love the performing arts and I'm also a writer of poetry, scripts and fiction novel work. I'm open and willing to learn what your cats need and I want to help in any way I can. When I'm in between work as an artist it's my dream to foster kittens and cats when I have my own place to do so. There are many cats that need saved, taken care of and need a foster parent to help them get to their forever homes.
In my professional life I work in theater, film/TV and have another job part-time job. I will keep an open door of communication when plans change and open that availability given enough time in advance. I'm pretty flexible during mornings, afternoons and when given enough time in advance have evening availability. Due to COVID safety, I'm completely okay showing my vaccination card information, masking up while being around your cats when necessary and doing virtual meet and greets in addition to in person ones. Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.
These are the date ranges in 2026 to which the holiday surcharge applies:

- January 16-22: MLK Day
- February 13-19: Presidents Day
- May 22-28: Memorial Day
- June 16-22: Juneteenth
- July 1-7: July 4th

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Pittsburgh cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $27.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
