Hi there! My name is Claudia. enjoy traveling, reading, writing, gardening, painting, creating music, babysitting, and spending time with my cats -- mostly spending time with my cats :)

I have three beautiful cats of my own: Bonnie, 6, Luna, 4, and Mato, 3. All my babies are spayed/neutered and FIV negative.

Growing up, I was constantly around animals. When I was born, my family already had two cats and a dog, but the older I got, the more animals came around. At one point, we had 10 pets. My mom was somehow always attracting animals - whether it be the stray dogs and cats in the area, the geese in the pond, or the raccoons in the neighborhood, they were drawn to my family... Hi there! Needless to say, I am an animal lover!

To help my way through grad school, my partner and I have been walking dogs via a dog walker platform, house and pet sitting, and have been babysitting for many families. Ultimately, we both love forming bonds with families in the area, and we are always willing to lend a helping hand.

When I first heard about Meowtel, I was considering it for my own babies to be taken care of. I figured, why not become a sitter myself? I am very much looking forward to meeting tons of new cats and their unique personalities, and making sure you don't have to worry about them while you are away -- I know how it is!

I just recently graduated with my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, so my schedule is a bit up in the air right now and potentially subject to change.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

Cats' personalities are all so unique. I love meeting all the babies and learning their personalities, down to the smallest funny quirks. They are all so different! I love that, it's what makes them special.

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I have three wonderful babies. For years before I got her, I knew I wanted a kitten named Bonnie. I finally got my Bonnie in June of 2020. Two years later, my partner , who had just moved here from Colorado at the time, adopted another sweet baby, our Luna. Lastly, last summer we felt something was missing, and we brought home a little boy (he was initially marked as a girl! We found out he was a boy when I reviewed his paperwork after we brought him home)! In my pictures, you can see Bonnie, Luna, and our newest baby, Mato. Bonnie is black and white, Luna is grey tabby, Mato is black. They are my beloved soul animals. I love every minute I spend with them. Their personalities are so different, yet they learn from each other. I love them!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

When I consider cat sitters for my own babies, I look to see if they have their own cats. I find that cat people are the best to spend time with my own kitties, especially as one of my babies is a little skittish around new people. Cat folks understand that!

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

First, I get in touch with the family I am sitting for. Some families have indoor/outdoor cats with cat doors, but I imagine most are strictly indoor. With that in mind, I want to make sure I know where all of the cats are in the house, that they aren't anywhere they are not supposed to be, and I'm always careful when I open and shut doors. Making sure they are all safely in the house is priority.

What is your favorite cat toy?

This is a tough answer, because the toys that I like, my cats aren't fond of. They love cardboard boxes, blankets and string toys. They also like fingers. We're working on that.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

I have a kitty who is particularly nervous when new people come over. She is very friendly and sweet, but hides. She does best with slow, soft spoken voices and movements, and patience. With this in mind, I'll approach other timid kitties similarly, on their own time, patiently and gently.

This was our 2nd reservation with Claudia and she's amazing. She arrived within the scheduled time each morning and evening. She gave me detailed updates and loads of pictures. I really appreciated seeing how the cats interacted with her and all the pets and toys they got to enjoy. Our really shy cat even made an appearance towards the end of the reservation. Claudia is probably only the 2nd person to see her ever outside of my husband and I, so she must have felt really comfortable with Claudia's visits. We will continue to book with Claudia as long as she'll have us.

Claudia was amazing. She showed up during the scheduled times and stayed for the allotted time. She always let me know when she was heading over. She made sure my cats were fed and the boxes cleaned. She always sent lots of pictures and my cats always looked so happy. They got treats, pets and playtime. We will definitely request Claudia for future visits.

Claudia is the absolute best!!! She was attentive, warm, caring, and really cares about our kitty! She sent so many wonderful pictures and videos while we were away to still feel connected to our angel, and we were so thankful. She also took care of our mail and trash!! I have never felt so relieved while away to know our kitty was really being cared after. Couldn’t imagine anyone else doing a better job!!

Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:


  • More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
  • 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
  • Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.

All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.

Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Swarthmore cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $27.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
