What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
Building trust with a new cat requires patience, respect, and understanding of their unique personality. First, I give the cat space to approach me on their terms, letting them sniff and observe without pressure. I use a gentle voice to reassure them and avoid direct eye contact, which can be intimidating. Offering treats or engaging with their favorite toys helps to create positive associations. Gradually, I’ll start petting them in areas cats typically enjoy, like under the chin or behind the ears, always watching their body language to ensure they're comfortable. Trust is built slowly, so I move slowly too.
Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?
If a cat is not eating or behaving normally, my first step is to closely observe their behavior and note any changes in appetite, energy levels, or litter box habits. I check for any environmental stressors, such as changes in routine, new pets, or unfamiliar people that could be causing anxiety. If the cat refuses food, I might try offering a different type or flavor of food to see if it sparks interest. I also ensure the food and water bowls are clean and placed in a quiet, comfortable location. If the cat's behavior doesn't improve within a day or two.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
My perfect day as a cat would start with a warm sunrise, as I stretch out on a cozy windowsill, feeling the sun's rays gently warming my fur. After a leisurely breakfast of my favorite wet food, I'd spend the morning exploring the house, finding all the best napping spots. A mid-day nap in a sunbeam would be essential. Later, I'd enjoy some playtime with feather toys, followed by cuddles from my favorite human, purring contentedly as I drift off to sleep.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
