Cat Sitting in Chesnee, SC

Hi my name is AJ and I've been taking care of pet and feral cats for 25+ years as a owner, rescuer and all around enthusiast. Seeing such a need for stewardship of controlling and caring for the feral cat population caused me to educate myself in all the resources available to find ways to help these creatures that enrich our own lives on so many ways. Homing as many as possible is my passion and making sure they have their best and healthiest lives is my happy place... A typical visit with your cat(s) would include play time, food, fresh water, litter box, tidy up, and waiting for them to settle back down to grooming and/or me brushing them after the meal before I depart. Cats love a routine of: Hunt, Eat, Groom, Sleep and I find that play before feeding stimulates that sense of purpose for them.
I like to meet them and establish all the areas of where their food and toys and brushes are kept before the care period begins to avoid any unnecessary confusion while you are enjoying your time away.
Your time away should be as stress free for you and your cats as possible.

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I have been cat sitting for friends and family for 35 years. It usually involves a few days to as long as 2-3 weeks or more.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

I love getting to know your pets and the relationship building with them. I love how they build trust and soon enough they are letting me run their bellies. I love the updates with the owners and sending pictures and the compare/contrast of what the cat(s) are doing the same or different with me vs the owners. I find cat behavior fascinating.

Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?

My favorite cat client was Big Boy, a long hair domestic. They said I would t see him the whole time but he let.me.brush him every day. When the owners returned they said they barely recognized him that he was so well groomed as he would t let them brush him hardly at all. Big Boy and I had a special connection.

If it doesn't feel like a purrfect fit after a Meet & Greet or during a reservation, our support team is here to help at 1-844-Meowtel (1-844-636-9835). We'll take time to understand what happened and help you consider next steps, which could include help with a new reservation.

Chesnee cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $24.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.

Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.

Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.

We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.

Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a Meet & Greet!
