What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I have lifelong experience with cat sitting, on two different continents! I have cat sat for clients and friends both in the U.S. and U.K., so have a wide-range of experience with all sorts of clients and kitties. I've taken care of young kittens to elderly cats, and have been able to acquire a cadre of loyal, repeat clients wherever I've lived.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

I would encourage cat owners to really trust their intuition in choosing the right cat sitter - there's nothing more reassuring than having implicit faith in the person into whose hands you've left the care of your cats! And intuition can go a long way in telling you how much you'll be able to have peace of mind when leaving your cat(s) in the hands of a cat sitter.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

One of the best strategies for dealing with timid or anxious cats is simply allowing them to feel calm and safe in your presence, which is best done by simply being around them! With cats with whom I need to build a rapport, I find it helpful to bring a book or something quiet to do, and sit near the cat and/or his/her favorite sleeping place - it shows them that you're safe and are not a threat! 99 times out of 100, the cat will come out on his/her own and initiate trust in you, helping them to ease their fear and anxiety.

Cancellation Policy

Customers may cancel within 24 hours of making their reservation and receive a 100% refund, and the sitter will not receive any earnings. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

Customers will receive a 100% refund to their Account Balance if they cancel anytime up to 48 hours before the start date of the reservation, and the sitter will not receive any earnings.

Customers will receive a 50% refund, and the sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings if the customer cancels between 24-48 hours of the start of the reservation.

No refund will be issued within 24 hours of the reservation, and the sitter will keep 100% of their planned earnings.
