What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
For the past 5 years I have cat sat for local family members when they travel. This includes changing the water, cleaning and feeling the food bowls, scooping the litter box and replenishing with litter. Combined with my own cats, I have decades of experience with all aspects of cat care.
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
Meeting all of their needs and making them feel safe and comfy. I know cats are particular and as a cat lover and decade long cat owner, I feel like I'm well qualified for this.
Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?
I tale care of my son's two cats as well as his mother-in-law's cat over the holidays at my son's home. The mother-in-law's cat named Amber is old and shy and it was so sweet when she finally comes out of hiding place and lets me pet her.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
My tortie Kokie passed last year at age 17. Her sister Misty, a gray tabby passed in 2021 at age 15.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?
Be sure they're background checked and choose a reputable company. Read the reviews. I think choosing someone who is a long time local to the area is also a plus.
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
I am mindful to ensure that your cat does not slip out of the door and make sure that I lock myself inside while caring for your cat.
Are you usually available during holidays?
I'm usually available during holidays.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
Let them lead and be gentle and calm. If they don't want to be petted, that is fine. Sometimes it takes a while.

Holiday Surcharge
Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
