Cat Sitting in Rock Hill, SC
I've been called a "Cat Whisperer" many times, and in different languages ... Maybe because I respect and allow Cats to be the first to make an introduction.
I was very fortunate to grow up on a farm in Africa, had many Pets (including a Hedgehog, a Duck, a Rooster, and many other Wild Birds), and always a Ginger Cat! My mom had Gray Cats, and my dad had a unique White Cat.
But I had the Gemmer/Ginger/Pampoen/Socks/Patat/Sokkies Ginger Kitters in my life. And a couple of Black Cats and Calico Cats too. At one time I had six Cats and a St Bernard Dog (Portos) that did everything as a team together ..... Aristocratic. Independent. Majestic.

I know how to administer the ABC's of CPR, look out for seizures, and to be alert for signs of distress/shock/injuries, etc.
My rates include a full service. During each visit, I will:
* Feed your cat/s according to your guidelines
* Administer medication (ointments, pills, etc.), if any
* Scoop/refresh the litter box
* Play & cuddle
* Pick up your mail and packages
* Water your plants
* Teach your cat/s some Afrikaans
PS: I am Vaccinated/Booster against COVID-19
And that is how I treat every Cat Friend I met ... I waited for them to make the first move, the first sniff, the first rub. Because they are Aristocratic, Independent, and Majestic!

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I'm very fortunate to have had many great Kitters throughout my life. And making new Friends are a privilege. Being with Meowtel since 2022 makes that possible ... looking forward to meet new Friends! 🐱
What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?
Always exciting to meet new Kitter Friends! I will respond to your inquiries/questions. And we will schedule a date/time for me to come and meet you and your Kitter/s after the reservation is made. I always re-confirm the day of the meeting, and will be in communication when on route. I do take notes to ensure I have all the details/information needed to take the best care of your Kitter/s while you are away. And while you are away, you will receive many 'un-photoshopped' pictures of real-time shenanigans!
How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
It starts before entering the Home ... outside surroundings taken in consideration. Upon unlocking a door: slow opening and a quick scan of the immediate entryway [I do love a Welcoming Committee ... and therefore double-check upon enter]. Observation of the home's interior/windows/other outside doors/kitchen floor for any water/leaks, etc. Staying in communication with the Cat Parent should I notice anything out of the ordinary. Same safety precautions upon exiting.
Are you usually available during holidays?
I am available most Holidays to share time with my Kitter Friends!
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
It is all about The Kitter - their timing and their approach. I aim for the lease bit of disturbance - natural is safer and they will be more willing to come and make their acquaintance. 🐱

I couldn’t ask for a better cat sitter! my two kitties are sort of needy and don’t get along and Elzanah handled them perfectly. When we met she asked me all the right questions and took detailed notes about all their needs. I got pictures and info at every visit. You can tell Elzanah loves kitties and enjoyed watching them. She clearly showed them love and they were so well cared for. My kitty Jax was slow to come around but she was patient and by the end he was giving her all the love he could. I am so thankful to know my babies were so well cared for when I was away. Elzanah gave me such peace of mind and made my trip that much better since I was worried about them!

Elzanah was AMAZING! Our cats warmed up to her immediately. Two of our kittens are pretty shy around people but she took the time to gain their trust and love. She not only took care of the house logistics with food, water (even bird foot and water) but also took time to sit with the cats and play with them! Will definitely keep using Elzanah in the future!

We are so grateful to have connected with Elzanah! She was not only an impeccable pet sitter for us while on family vacation, but quickly became a friend; not just with us, but with our cat Alice. Alice took to Elzanah immediately during our first meet & greet, which filled us with so much relief & confidence in leaving her in the care of someone else, which can be hard to do. Alice is older & has unfortunately begun losing her hearing. Elzanah was attentive & patient when we explained to her how to manage visits with Alice because of this (I.e., best way to approach her so as not to startle her). She kept in touch with us daily while we were away, sharing loads of photos with us so we always felt present from afar! While we typically entrust family with Alice while my wife & I are away, our annual family vacation is an anomaly since our family is with us on those trips. Finding someone we can rely on & trust with our girl has been an immense relief for us, & we will definitely be using Elzanah for our future pet sitting needs - & maybe even have her over to visit Alice occasionally without a pet sitting need!

Due to high demand during holidays, sitters on Meowtel have the option to set their own holiday price increase, which can be found in the rates section of their profiles. If your reservation falls within three (3) days before and/or after a federal holiday, or on the holiday itself, a holiday surcharge, determined by your sitter, will be added to your reservation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Rock Hill cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $29.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
