What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

Love it! I have been cat sitting for friends for over a decade, and have been with Meowtel now a few years. It's a great way to build community.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

Meeting new clients and their cats. It gives me an opportunity to help someone out and make a new furry friend.

Can you tell us about your favorite cat sitting reservation?

I love all cat sitting gigs. They all have such different personalities, and I love the ones that love to cuddle. It's therapeutic for both of us!

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

I have two! Echo Josephine who is going to be 15 in November of 2025, and Slinky Hoover who is going to be 17 in October of 2025! They've been with me all of my adult life, and it's been a real honor to take care of them.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

Go with your gut! There's a lot of nice folks out there, and some times you just have to trust the universe and give someone a try <3 I also recommend doing a meet-n-greet so the client feels confident with their hire :)

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

I schedule a meet-n-greet prior to the reservation date to get to know the client and the cat, so I can understand their needs and the layout of where their food/water/litter box is, so that the client can feel comfortable with hiring me to watch their babe(s).

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

Absolutely. Always check that doors are locked properly, double-check and make sure they're not stuck in a closet or something. And I watch very carefully when I am entering/exiting someone's home.

Are you usually available during holidays?

Yes! Most of the major holidays I am available.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

I usually bring a sweatshirt of mine to the meet-n-greet and leave it there for the cat to get used to my scent. Then during the visit, I will sit on the floor or nearby them to let them feel safe and allow them to approach me on their own. This usually works great! If they're still being shy, treats are a great way to make friends.

I’m so glad I booked Dani! I was anxious about leaving my cats. Having her stop in eased by mind about leaving my kitties for a few days. I had Dani stop in to clean the litter, make sure the automatic food and water are functioning properly, and to just socialize with the cats while I was away. Such a better experience than asking a random person in my building to stop in! Dani was very responsive, professional, kind, and great with my kitties. She sent me videos and photos too! I would absolutely recommend Dani as an animal sitter and would give her more than 5 stars if I could.

Cancellation Policy

Cat parents may cancel within 24 hours of making their reservation and receive a full refund, and the sitter will not receive any earnings. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

Cat parents will receive a full refund to their Account Balance if they cancel anytime up to 48 hours before the start date of the reservation, and the sitter will not receive any earnings.

Cat parents will receive a 50% refund, and the sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings if the cat parent cancels between 24-48 hours of the start of the reservation.

No refund will be issued within 24 hours of the reservation, and the sitter will keep 100% of their planned earnings.
