I grew up in Charleston, SC with 2 cats (Fanny & Deion Sanders) + 1 dog (Daisy.) Over the years, I have adopted all sorts of animals, and now have one cat, Moose. I decided to join Meowtel in April 2024 and am excited to expand on my pet sitting client base in the Nashville area!

I have always had a profound love for animals and am not quite ready to adopt again but would love to fill that void with some much needed cat cuddles.

I volunteered at a local vet while studying to be a vet tech back in 2009... I grew up in Charleston, SC with 2 cats (Fanny & Deion Sanders) + 1 dog (Daisy.) I have always loved pet sitting for my friends + family over the years, whether it is for a cat, dog, bird or fish. Being a previous and current cat owner myself, I have plenty of experience with cats of all ages, including administering medication, cleaning litter boxes, and tending to special dietary needs. Rest assured your cat(s) will be well taken care of in your absence.

I currently live in the Richland area and can easily serve the following areas any time of day: Sylvan Park, Cherokee Park, Green Hills, Belle Meade, The Nations and surrounding areas.

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I have been cat-sitting for neighbors + friends for the last 10 years. I have been on the Meowtel app for 2 years now.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

I love just hanging out with cats!

I truly love them all ❤️

Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?

Unfortunately, all of my pets have passed away from old age. I did have two amazing cats - Pod + Dudley :)

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a cat sitter?

Schedule an in-person meet + greet before hiring a pet sitter. This way you can get a better feel for who you are hiring to watch your pets - and it gives the sitter a chance to know where you keep your food, medications + litter boxes. The sitter will be in your home while you are away, and you will want to make sure you are hiring the right person for the position.

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

A phone/video call is always preferred before the first visit so the client can make that initial connection. (An in-person meet + greet at the client’s home is even better!) I always want to learn more about the client’s needs + expectations while they are away. I want every cat-owner to feel comfortable leaving their furry friend at home knowing that their pet is in good hands!

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

I always follow all instructions that the owner leaves behind. I prefer to discuss any medical problems, feeding schedules, dietary restrictions, etc. prior to my first visit. I always make sure to lock all windows + doors prior to leaving the home.

Are you usually available during holidays?

I am typically available during holidays. If for some reason I am on vacation, my calendar will not be available on Meowtel.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

I always pay attention to the cat’s body language. If the cat needs space, I respect its needs and typically sit on the floor to get on their level and wait for the cat to come to me. Offering treats always seems to help!

Betsey is great! She has an easy going vibe, which I knew right away my cats would be comfortable with. She was thorough in following all my instructions, going above and beyond each day and sending daily photos and videos. I was thus able to relax and enjoy my time away with no worries about my beloved babies.

Listen, Betsey is the way to go. This is the first time with a hired sitter and not friend/family... and I've had one of these cats for >22 years. I truly did not feel worried about my cats, my house, and it was good to not burden my family. Betsey is attentive, responsible, just takes care of things, and my cats were so happy and grounded when I got home- Not yowling and eating the paint off the walls per usual.

Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.

All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
