I’ve volunteered at The Catio (2021-2024) to help the shy kitties get acclimated, which kept me in tune with my more introverted feline friends. I also have experience with giving kitties medications including pills, liquids, topicals, and injections.

What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?
I’ve cat-sat for friends for years, and I started with Meowtel in January 2021. I frequently volunteered to visit shy kitties at The Catio from November 2021 through June 2024.
What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?
I love getting to know the kitties, taking lots of photos, and helping cat parents feel at ease while they’re away.
Do you have kitties yourself? What are their names?
My kitties are both elderly rescues. Biscuits is 17, and he loves playtime, snuggles, and meeting new people. Kitty Maow made it to 22 (10/31/2004–1/29/2026), and she enjoyed naps, treats, and classical music.
Are you usually available during holidays?
I’m flexible for most holidays, but I’m usually out of pocket for Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, MLK Day, Memorial Day, and 4th of July.
What is your favorite cat toy?
Whichever toy is your cat’s favorite!
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
Shy kitties are my jam. I like to listen to how their parent speaks to them, so I can call them in the same way (intonation, nicknames, etc.). I try not to make extended eye contact, so the kitty feels more at ease. If a kitty shows any sign of aggression, I give them plenty of space. And I always let a shy kitty have plenty of time to sniff before trying to pet!

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
Meowtel is a marketplace that connects cat parents with independent sitters. For eligible reservations booked and paid for through Meowtel, the Meowtel Promise explains how we support cat parents if something unexpected comes up.

Old Hickory cat sitting rates will vary based on the sitter's experience and services, but the average price is $29.00. Prices depend on visit duration (20, 45, or 60 minutes) and whether you need drop-in visits or overnight stays.
Every cat sitter on Meowtel completes a background check. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet so you (and your kitties!) can feel comfortable with your sitter before you leave.
Cats are territorial animals and don't do well in new environments. The presence of other cats, dogs, and even birds in kennels or animal hotels cause an immense amount of stress. This is why Meowtel was created, so tailored in-home care is brought to you.
We recommend booking daily visits to keep your cats in their routine and help minimize feline anxiety while you're away.
Each visit typically includes: feeding, refreshing water bowls, litter box scooping, tidying up, medications, updates with photos, lots of playtime, and any special requests. Ask your sitter about a free Meet & Greet!

Jennifer is wonderful! She goes above and beyond to make sure my baby is taken care of when I’m gone. On the last trip, he got sick all over my bed. She cleaned everything up and even put it in the washer, so my bedding wouldn’t stain. Oz is not the friendliest guy either and she is so patient and understanding with him. 10/10 recommend her!!!

Jennifer has been a temporary mom to our four-legged kids a few times now and we LOVE her! She does such a great job of communicating with us when she arrives, while she’s there, and sends lots of pictures of our King Lemon and Lady MudPie. When we know we have to head out of town for more than a few days, we like to sit both the cats down and tell them that Jennifer will be coming over to give them love while we’re gone. I swear they both perk up and run loops around the house from excitement! Or they just choose to do zoomies because we’re down in their faces.... We choose to believe the former. 😊. As always, she communicates with us each visit, beginning with a photo and a short note of being greeted by one (or both!) cats when she enters.
