What is your experience with cat sitting, and how long have you been doing it?

I started cat sitting as a kid by helping out neighbors and family friends when they traveled. What began as a small favor has grown into something I genuinely enjoy and take pride in. Now, I cat sit professionally and have had the opportunity to care for many cats in a variety of homes. Each one has their own personality and needs, and I always do my best to make them feel safe and comfortable. I treat every cat I care for with the same attention and compassion I’d want someone to give to mine.

What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

What I enjoy most about cat sitting is getting to know each cat and figuring out their personality. Every cat is different. Some love attention, while others are happy just having someone nearby. It’s especially rewarding to earn the trust of a cat who might be a little shy at first and to know they feel comfortable and safe while their owner is away. There’s something really peaceful about it, and I genuinely enjoy being part of their little world, even if it’s only for a short time.

How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?

When I’m caring for timid or anxious cats, I focus on being gentle and patient. I give them plenty of space and never push for interaction. Instead, I let them come to me when they feel ready. I’ll usually start by simply being in the room with them, speaking softly and moving slowly. I avoid direct eye contact and pay close attention to their body language so I can adjust my approach as needed. Sometimes, just sitting nearby and offering a treat can help build a little trust. I always respect their boundaries and see even the smallest signs of progress as something worth celebrating.

Adam was a wonderful sitter for our girls! He was responsive to our messages and sent us photos of the cats daily. He was super detail oriented around accessing our home and conscientious about leaving it locked up when he left. He even went above and beyond what we asked for and vacuumed the room where the litter box lives when it got a little dusty. I would certainly hire him again!

Cancellation Policy

Cat parents may cancel within 24 hours of making their reservation and receive a full refund, and the sitter will not receive any earnings. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

Cat parents will receive a full refund to their Account Balance if they cancel anytime up to 48 hours before the start date of the reservation, and the sitter will not receive any earnings.

Cat parents will receive a 50% refund, and the sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings if the cat parent cancels between 24-48 hours of the start of the reservation.

No refund will be issued within 24 hours of the reservation, and the sitter will keep 100% of their planned earnings.
