How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?
I take both pet safety and home security very seriously. I always follow the ownerās instructions carefully, including feeding schedules, medication routines, door and window precautions, and any specific safety concerns for the cats or the home. I make sure cats stay safely indoors, check that doors and gates are secure, and pay close attention when entering or leaving to prevent any escapes. I also keep the home clean and organized, monitor for anything unusual, and make sure the cats are comfortable and stress-free while their owners are away. Since I have four cats of my own, Iām very aware of common safety risks and how quickly cats can get into things they shouldnāt. Iām dependable, respectful of peopleās homes, and committed to providing a safe, trustworthy environment for both pets and owners.
What is your favorite cat toy?
My favorite cat toys are interactive toys like wand teasers and feather toys because they keep cats active, engaged, and mentally stimulated. I also love puzzle toys and treat toys since they encourage curiosity and play, especially for indoor cats. With four cats of my own, Iāve learned that every cat has their own favorite ā some love chasing toys while others prefer cozy catnip toys or laser pointers. I enjoy finding what each cat responds to best and making playtime fun and enriching for them.
How do you handle cats that are particularly timid or anxious?
I handle anxious and timid cats with patience, consistency, and a calm approach. I know every cat adjusts differently, especially when their owners are away, so I make sure to respect their space and let them warm up to me at their own pace. I avoid forcing interaction and instead focus on creating a quiet, comfortable environment where they feel safe. Because I have four cats of my own and years of experience with different personalities and breeds, Iām very familiar with reading body language and recognizing signs of stress or discomfort. I stick closely to their normal routines, offer gentle reassurance, and use play or treats when appropriate to help build trust. My goal is always to make cats feel secure, cared for, and as relaxed as possible while their family is away

Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations officially begin at 12:00 AM in the sitter's time zone on the start date. Cat Parents may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund, as long as the reservation has not yet started. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:
- More than 48 hours before the reservation start date: Full refund. The sitter will not receive any earnings.
- 24–48 hours before the reservation start date: 50% refund. The sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings.
- Within 24 hours of the reservation start date (or after it has begun): No refund. The sitter will earn 100% of their planned earnings.
All refunds are initially applied to the Cat Parent's Meowtel Account Balance for use toward a future reservation or tip. Funds may be returned to the original payment method at any time.
