What do you enjoy most about cat sitting?

I love getting to know each cat and their unique personality! That feeling I get when a cat comes to me for pets, especially if they are shy, is amazing. It’s like unlocking a special prize! I also love the diversity that comes with cat personalities. Whether regal and reserved or silly and spunky, they are such characters and getting to see and interact with their different personality types is so fun.

What is your typical process for working with a new cat parent?

I always start a potential booking with a house visit if the client is comfortable with it. That way the cats and the owners can meet me beforehand and make sure they’re both comfortable with me. This also give me a chance to see their home routine/schedule in action. I always take notes on every cats lifestyle so I can make sure I’m copying everything their owners do so their sitting session is as normal as possible. In addition to getting their food/play/bathroom info, I also have routine questions for each pet parent including asking about health/stress issues and medications, cleaning procedures and emergency contacts.

How do you ensure the safety & security of the cats and the home while cat sitting?

When it comes to the home, I’m very paranoid about locks (comes with being a zookeeper). Before I leave or go to bed I always do a lap around the house, checking all doors and windows to make sure they securely locked. I stive to make my presence as unobtrusive as possible so I take care to not make any mess or disturb belongings. I also take care of any household chores on request of the owners such as taking trash out, watering plants, etc. For the cats safety, I make sure they are as comfortable as possible by keeping their same home routine and respecting their boundaries. This helps avoid any undue stress. I also make sure to prevent any alterations to their environment to keep them away from potentially hazardous substances like plastic bags, hair ties or any thing else the owners alert me of.

Lyndsey was great with my cat Freya. My cat is skittish around strangers and hides at the first glimpse. Lyndsey was able to coax somewhat out of her hiding spot more than anyone else ever has. She kept me informed daily and there were no problems. I highly recommend giving her a try!

Cancellation Policy

Cat parents may cancel within 24 hours of making their reservation and receive a full refund, and the sitter will not receive any earnings. After the first 24 hours, the following cancellation rules apply:

Cat parents will receive a full refund to their Account Balance if they cancel anytime up to 48 hours before the start date of the reservation, and the sitter will not receive any earnings.

Cat parents will receive a 50% refund, and the sitter will earn 50% of their planned earnings if the cat parent cancels between 24-48 hours of the start of the reservation.

No refund will be issued within 24 hours of the reservation, and the sitter will keep 100% of their planned earnings.
